Me and my dad got tickets to the Nurburgring F1 this year like two months ago or so, and today we got the tickets in the mail and this information sheet.

On the sheet that came with it or I think my mom printed it off not sure, it shows the whole list of events for the F1 weekend.

Other than the F1 practice, warmup, quali, and race and all that, there's also other races.

GP2 - practice, quali, race
Porsche Supercup Michelin - practice, quali, race
Mini Challenge - practice, race
Germany Formula BMW - practice, quali, race

It's not clear whether the tickets that I got for about 80 euro include these events. Has anyone been to a F1 weekend and do you know how much more it costs to go to these or if it's included in F1 weekend ticket? I'd really like to go to GP2 race, or maybe Mini Challenge or the Porsche one or even the Formula BMW, sounds really nice. I imagine it wouldn't be much more money.. I mean if I could give like another 20 to 50 euros to include all 4 of them with all their sessions, that'd be nice..

I haven't been to the F1 for quite some time but it did include all the support races.

Down here. You get the whole day. Everything that's on the track from 9am - 5pm, I assume it's the same there

If they are Grandstand Seats rather then just General Admission, you can walk around anywhere really, but you can only sit in your grandstand. For example, if you brought tickets for the Fangio Stand, you can't go in the Prost stand.

Ok well my dad told me I can go to all the support events as well, I was like nah it can't be that easy, but I think he's right.

You see I don't really know because:

#1 - this is the first F1 event I'm going to attend, and really the first race event ever that I'm going to

#2 - it's at Nurburgring, Germany, I don't live in Germany, I live in Canada, and I'm flying over there for my vacation (Germany in general)

But yea, I can't wait till I go there.

Great lucky you, it should be for all the support races, I can't see why not.

The ticket is for the day, not for a specific event. Therefore you can see all events on the day(s) for which you have tickets.

Enjoy!

Wear layers of clothing, and take some sort of waterproofing, even if it's just a polythene poncho. Race tracks are usually quite exposed (especially if you're in a stand without a roof), and so you're vulnerable to the weather conditions. Also, take water with you as it will not be as commonly available as beer!

No - when the other events are on, unless you've payed to see them, the P.A. system asks for all those who've bought F1 only tickets to put headphones on and cover their eyes until the events have finished :sly:

Seriously, you'll have a great weekend, the F1 will be the highlight but the other races and so on will be entertaining also.

You get to see all events; my F1 experience was that of a Saturday F3000 event and the Sunday's F1 race. The support race was cancelled that day, I'd heard, but I never found out the reason.

Also, don't expect anything like pit/paddock access like a minor race meeting. F1 really limits where and when they have pit walk-abouts, although I think they do it for Silverstone and a few other venues on Fridays.

Yep, the tickes are for the entire day. I didn't know this when i went to the GP of Spain and was pleasantly surprised.

Yeah so was I when I went to the British GP in 04, I saw the F3000, Porsche Carrera Super Cup and a Historic GP race.

You'll have a great time, as will I come June once again.
:D

That's great to hear. Anyway I hope it's a really good race. Next year I'm planning to go to Montreal for the canadian f1 race if I can.

I just looked up tickets for the Silverstone GP. £99!!!! :grumpy:

I'm still seriously considering it though.

I've never been to any GP events.
Not only becuase i dont have the money, But you just dont get that 'extra' coverage. example, if your on the north side of Albert Park, and someone crashes on the South side, you just dont see it. But sure, it comes up on the big screen, but you dont get to hear the commentry.
Get where im going at?

Yeah that's true. But then again, it's so much better seeing these cars live. They go much quicker then you see on TV and then there's the engine noise. That was something i'll never forget.

I’m going to the San Marino Grand Prix this year. Unfortunatly our e-order fell through, so we’ll have to buy our tickets at the gate—but that’s not a big problem.

I am hoping to get to a grand prix next year, not sure which one, Canadian maybe, if the Belgian GP is back next year it will be that one..otherwise Canadian or Monaco maybe..

Good luck with Monaco. There are 3 things I want to do in life,

1// Fly Concorde(sp)
2// Sail on the QE II
3// Watch the Monaco GP (from somewhere good and have a nice hotel room)

Look's like my life is screwed, through no fault of my own of course.

Ticket is for the day. The porsche races are entertaining. Moire so than the F1 depending on where your sitting. Take binocolars with you just incase.

I've been fortunate enough to have attented two GPs (Malaysia and Shanghai) and the support races were included... so I don;t see why it would be different for the other rounds... furthermore, when I was there, many people didn't bother to attend the support races, hence, I was able to roam around freely to the lower rows... have fun...

The aussie GP has pretty good side events, when I went there was a Porsche 911 cup, Shannons sports race (lambos, ferraris, vipers 911's etc), formula Ford, V8 Supercars and the F1 speed comparison where they had a road car start a lap, then 40secs later a V8 supercar started a lap then 30secs after that they unleashed the F1 car. Guess who finished the lap first?

well, at the GP in Melbourne a few weeks ago, the fastest V8 was by Todd Kelly, Holden Racing Team, 1:59.3294.
Fastest Lap in the F1 was by Kimi Räikkönen 1:26.045

...you do the math. keep in mind with the variables, i.e; weather, cold tyres?, drivers, etc...

well each time they did the test the times between the cars were slightly modified. They did the test 4 times over 4 days, the road car and the V8 supercar won one a piece, witht the F1 car raking up two. That event was fantastic as I was on the last corner and you could see all three cars go past in about 10 secs. The V8 looked soooo much faster than the road car but then just as the V8 was entering the final straight you heard the scream of the V10 of the F1 car coming out of turn 15 (hairpin) and it didnt even slow down for the last corner and it just blew both of the other cars off the track down the final straight.

I still get excited thinking about that event

Those comparisons are funny. You know that the whole thing is fixed, but the F1 car is so fast that you're always lulled into the feeling that this time they've overcooked the handicap, that this time one of the others is going to win it. And then (usually) the F1 comes screaming out of nowhere and blows by the other competitors to take it at the last.

It's actually a very good way of illustrating just how fast these things really are.
