SCPH1000-
Hi all, I've not long been live streaming or even uploading to you tube till GT SPORT arrived. I'm pretty well connected on the web due to many other things I'm involved with (linkedin, soundcloud, facebook, myspace (yes MySpace) Bebo, Friends Reunited (R.I.P), Reddit, and one or two adult sites (ahem) and various and numerous photography sites, pc tech sites, and a ton of others. So it wasn't that difficult to network and get subscribers and views ....even if they never fully watch my uploads or even interact with them (likes, comments, dislikes etc). my question is really this, is it just a case of regular live streams to get people to interact with you live to get a good buzz going, or a combination of pre recorded and crazy editing to add splash headlines or attention grabbing titles (which ultimately leads to disappointing viewing inmo). For a example, I follow Tidgney, Marcus Cabellero, Oink83, TNR_5zigen and a few others, I follow them because there's no Bull@#*! talking, no moaning, no whinging, no bigging themselves up, no misleading titles, etc. They are just showing what they do and how they do it and telling you about in an honest way that doesn't scream "I WANT ATTENTION" (although technically I'm asking for attention in this thread.....does that make sense?). Then there are the ones I use to watch but unsubscribed because they talked far to much, complained about other players lack of awareness and not realising they are at fault too, and the ones that talk to fast trying to get everything said in under the 1min.30sec before the viewer gets bored and leaves. Don't even get me started on the Max Headroom 'Glitch' style of editing either coz that WMTFU!. (see, I've gone completely off-piste). So, back to the question.....

I think you answered your own question. Do you want to be an attention whore or serious contributor? Just please don't use clickbait thumbnails, that's the most annoying of all.

Yes, clickbait is thee absolute worst thing ever, and yes I want to be a contributer

I think he wants to know how to get some real subscribers
Just pay a lot of money...
i'd subscribe everything with my blood... :D

if the goal is to have lot of Subs, he needs to post videos useful to others (suggestions, guides and so on..)

if the goal is to show what he likes: just do it for himself and don't care about no one watching the videos (it's just what happens to my videos posted on youtube!!! ) :dopey:

I follow a few GTS streamers on youtube(Tidgney, Z28, TheKie, etc). I tend to only watch edited videos with commentary. For example track guides, bop tests or replays of FIA races. When a streamer streams live it can go on for hours and I simply don’t have the time for it. It’s usually only interesting for a small part of that anyways.

But that’s just me. Everybody is different I guess.

I agree too! But the youtubers have the same issue. Pushing out regular content they just don’t have the time for. Livestreams save them loads of time. Instead of recording, recording voiceover, editing etc. No idea if they can make a living of YouTube, but in most cases they have a day job as well, because simracing is still a small niche in comparison with mainstream gaming.

I just stream because I like to re-watch my races sometimes for those good moments. It's a lot easier to just stream everything, youtube doesn't care how much I upload, then I just pick and choose what I watch.

Occasionally other people hop on watch and chat. That's fine too.

This is my attitude towards most of my gaming and it's got me to almost 150k cumulative views and coming up on 100 subscribers.
