Have any of you ever come across the message after accepting a friends request to race you can't join the game because you’re missing downloadable content or have corrupt files? If so how do you fix it?

Go to the Playstation Store. Go to Add-Ons, then Disc-Based Game Add-ons and page down to Shift Add-ons. Add the Team Racing Add-on to your cart (it's free) then download & install it.

You won't get that message anymore.

Thanks! I've missed out on a couple of private races I would have loved to have been a part of because of not be able to join

You'd think EA could have come up with a better error code than that. Something along the lines of, ohhhhh I don't know, "You need the Team Racing Add-On to join this room."
