Hi. I'm doing the Suzuka 1000km Endurance Race B-spec now (doing 23 minutes now). I was wondering if my PS3 will survive for 8 hours in used. Also, will my ps3 shutdown when my settings in the XMB (main menu for the ps3) for power save is set to 'sleep/off after 3 hours of used'? I'm a bit nervous about my ps3 shutting down while I'm doing the B-spec race. It would be a real shame if that happens.:nervous:

1. Yes your PS3 will be fine, I've seen people run one for way more hours.

2. I think the PS3 will only auto shut off if there is no activity, you'll have to move the cursor around while the race is going every so often or just do something to tell the PS3 you're doing something to rest the three hour sleep timer?

I run the 24 hour Le Mans race once a week in B-Spec, while I grind my way to Level 40. Any use goes towards the life of the PS3, but it is capable of running for 24 hours straight. Just need to make sure that it is always well-ventilated and you keep the air vents clean. 👍

As for the power save option, I only have my controllers turn-off after a short time to conserve their batteries. I do not have the PS3 set to power save.

1. Okay. Thanks for the heads up. Its not only gt5 who's enduring, but the ps3 system is enduring as well. LOL

2. Thanks for the tip. I'll set my timer to 2 hours and 30 minutes for that. :)

If you're only about 30 minutes in I would go and turn that sleep timer off just in case...

Its a good thing for you that you didn't set the power save. LOL. I forgot to do that when I just started the race 20 minutes ago. No way of going back. Thanks for the advice.
