When you guys started drifting, when you turn the TCS off, Did you always peel out?

Also I can't do SIMS!!!!!!! And i'm starting to believe my problem is the cars are too powerful maybe.... I try all sorts of tire combos.

I can't hold a drift....

I start drifting then my tires catch and i swing around the other way.....then i end back up to my peeling out.....

I NEEED TIPPPPPPPPSSSS.....

so um, help me out.........this sounds like rambling.....

1) I leave the TCS at 1 or sometimes 2.
2) Maybe Try drifting sims on 4WD. Try Vinkento's ZZII with sims or Majiik's Impreza LM Race Car. THey both can be found in the Drift Settings Depot.
3) Well to hold a drift you have to countersteer and hit the accelerator when it starts to pull out during mid drift.
4) Well if your tires grip use SIMS!!!

Hope this helps.

if u have a paddle and wheel set it would help to ease the accel, but if ur usin a dual shock 2, do floor it, jsut press X lightly and once the RPMS start goin up then u can press it harder and harder until u get into ur next gear, from then on u can floor it all u want

if ur gonna use sims, keep ur car around 200-300 hp
turn TCS and ASM both to 0 for low powered cars
try not to floor it until the time is right...you'll kno when it is =P
keep RPMs within power band, usually the top half of the rev meter.

10 posts! jesus! i use tcs level 0 and AMS level 0! generally the hp depends on the weight of the car. i try to have around .28 for my torque ratio. (no cars will have over 400hp if you do it right) sim tire drifting is difficult, just like drifting in real life. don't expect to be able to do it in 5 minutes..if you want that just get a 4WD car with 1000hp and supersoft tires, you'll be drifting before you can say "initial D". but the best drifters here use sim tires. so its up to you ;)

usually if uve got over 300 hp, u can use super slicks, and anything over 500 u can use slicks, they help u get a feel for drifting w/o gettin u into spin outs so easily, bu still once ur in the drift, dont floor it, u'll know when to give it pwer and when not to, usually if ur losing the angle, steer with the turn and floor it to get ur angle of the drift back, then just counter and ur back in the drift

dont use slicks any car with less than 450hp. that's too much grip. even 4WD cars don't need that much to drift...(my 22b only has 330, skyline with 375) if you want to drift today, just use slicks, and be happy. but if you want to duplicate the real stuff, learn sims on lightly modified cars! most car's don't even need suspension adjustments OR horsepower adders. just slap sim tires on, and away you go!

USE SIMS NO MATTEER WAHT! ahah well sims give you big loing drift you might want. try em out and if you spin out too much try upping the toe and camber:D

is it better for more camber in the back or in the front??? and what does toe have to do with...

one time i set the camber in the back so that it looked like a drift car, the tire at the bottom stuck out a foot! it sorta sucked

an increase in camber will lead to an increase in traction while turning. generally you want a higher camber number(in actuality it's negative camber) in the front, than the back. toe in and toe out can make the car very drift happy. this affect the way the wheels point at eachother, toe in / \ toe out \ /. when you have them as opposites, the car will naturally want to rotate. hope i helped :)

lan evo wat is the important thing to set drift . i didnt know wat to do with toe, lsd, bound&rebound stablizer...can u describe it ...10q:D

the lsd..(limited slip differential) is what determines the amount of power sent to both wheels. without a differential cars would be very hard to turn in..because both wheels would spin at the same speed. if you dont link the 2 wheels, they spin at different speeds during a turn(this is an open differential) by using a limited slip, you can get the best of both worlds. bound controls how much force is needed to compress the shock, rebound is how much force the shock returns when compressed. so...a stiffer shock will provide more response, but a bit bouncier, if you get too much bounce, your wheels won't stay planted. if you're shocks are too soft..your weight will transfer onto one side of the car and overload the shocks on that side, causing the car to lose its handling characteristics. stabilizers are the anti-roll bars..they tie together your left and right suspension. it prevents body roll...if you have it stiffer, the car rolls less, if it is soft..it rolls a lot. as far as how to use all of this..its all trial and error. take a value, take it to the extreme, see how it effects the handling...then remember what it does, and keep tweaking. it all comes with experience!

on most 4wd cars i dont touch the LSD or VCD. especially my skyline...i left all that stock. it drifts fine with 375hp on sim tires. but when i do use a setting..for the front i use 10 10 10, rear 50 50 18. then for fr just use the same for the rear..50 50 18.

isnt toe like

| |___| | making the tire wider | |_________| | and camber is

/____ \ the angle of the tire? correct me if im wrong. and if i am then my settings have been really odd    :D

camber is how much the wheel is sideways, like if ur looking @ a car from the front, and the camber is in high negatives, the wheel would look like this "\\" pointed in towards the wheel well, toe is how the wheel points when ur lookin from a top down persepective, the wheel in a positive cam would b pointing like this "// \\" in negatives it would b like this "\\ //" hope that made sense
