Questionable Midfield time?

I posted some times on GT Mode for Midfield Raceway.

I noticed that 'marsipulami' has posted an absurdly quick time, but he claims to be using R4 tires with a Formula 1?

Seeing as you can't use anything other than R3 tires on a Formula 1 on GT4, I suspect it may be an erroneously posted GT3 time...

Might be an idea to move the time to the GT3 board?

You can't change the tires in GT3 either. He probably used Arcade Mode.

I've noticed several questionable times for a number of tracks. Sarthe II seems rather fast for a clean race. But you never know.

I just posted my 0:52.682 @ Midfield w/ my F1, GT Mode, R3 (Medium) tires...no cheats, etc. I attempted to "Verify" with my "Max Drive" replay file, but am unable to submit via HTTP (yes I'm "new" and :dunce: ). I would like my replays verified however, along with my Apricot Hill time (fastest at this point @ 58.433) if I can just get them to someone. I can also post screen shots of the times if need be.

My point is that yes, the "R4" tires are questionable for "GT Mode", but the 0:51.2xx may not be. My 0:52 was with a VERY untidy final hairpin before tunnel leading to the finishing straight.

I agree, a time of 0:51:XXX in the F1 car is as it should be. His tire selection is questionable though, but not his time. Anyhow, I hope you guys get this resolved quickly, I'm looking forward to seeing more times 👍

The time nor the tires are questionable in my opinion. In arcade (where I assume the time is posted) any tires can be fitted, which explains his tyre choice. The time isn't anything too impossible on those tires either, I've got a 49.2 on supersofts :D.

So the 0:51 time maybe should have been posted in the "Arcade Mode" thread?

I'll be posting up more F1 times...just got the "MAX Drive" and am fighting with the file names. I'll get my times verified as well.

I also have an Apricot Hill time (posted).

...will have Tokyo R246, Laguna, and "The Ring", all in "GT Mode".

Hiya colnago! I've shared your dilema until I received a PM with the proper instructions very recently. Once you've posted your time, go to the page where all submitted times are listed. (ie "Apricot Hill"). "Click" on "Unverified" at the far right of your line & folow the instructions.

BTW: Posting "screenshots" proves absolutely NOTHING! Since there's NO Way to tell how "Clean" your run was before crossing the Finish Line!
Hope this Helps! 👍 ...O.G. :D

You know, transferring files would be much simpler if it gave the Sharkport file the same name you gave it...

Yeah I saw that while I was at work today...now I just have to figure out which filename is for each track. Ebiggs is right, the filename should transfer from the GT Replay filename. 👎

O.G. - I saw that Laguna Seca time of yours...watch your back. ;)

@ colnago & Ebiggs: You can blame the Sharkport problem on Polyphony Digital. They're changed something so that all replay files have the same name! :irked: At least w/GT3 you could get them into the PC Database screen BEFORE your label went away! :grumpy:

 I'm just tryin' to help promote the Planet's new Database & get some times listed before the really fast guys show up & my times are but a faded memory! :nervous: ...O.G. :D

I guess I'd better do my "Print Screens" now while I'm at/near the top.

The worst part is that I'm 1-2 seconds slower with the DFP than the DS2...but I refuse to go back to "sticks". ;)

ok, so zip up your files, like, Laguna Seca.zip

If you have winzip installed, you can usually just right click on the file, and there will be a "winzip" option.
