my point is, i dont have the cash just yet for a new card but i want to play my newer games with a better fps. someone told me the Radeon was better but i find it hard to belive. I was going to swap them.
Doom 3 runs good enough and is very playable. with my PC. And NFS Underground 2 runs great too. I just have to tweak the gfx. Any time u have to "tweak" the graphics u know your system blows .
Best buy has a 6800 with HL2 for $250 with $100 rebate.
By the way thanks.(it was code_dev who told me that back in June)
I would honestly advise you to get a 128mb 9200 RADEON(DX8.1) . Because this card is better then both of them and only should cost you $95 (CAN). The FX 5200 is just a crappy card. It can barely even play DX9 graphics . If your looking into DX9 graphic cards, dont get the FX cards(unless you get the FX5900 which plays DX9 games at decent rates).
The 9550 is a new version of the 9500. It's a version that's not overclockable, and isn't flashable to a 9700. The 9600 is a completely new core, which is also better.
I'd recommend a 9800 Pro or 9600XT, depending on budget.
If your short on cash, you can't go wrong with a geforce 4 ti 4200/4400/4600, a 9600, or a 9800. All good. Better then the 5200 or 8500 crap. If you have the cash, 6800 geforce all the way baby XD.
My bros got a 6600GT seems like a good card for the money. Seems like alot of 9800s are overpriced these days, hell they were cheaper 6 months ago in most places.
