If you have limited time what is the best way to get a few online races in?

I have tried a couple of times recently and it seemed to take an age to find a race, enter it and then wait for the leader to actually start the race. I also found that the leader would select track, regulations etc and after about 5mins practice the track or regulations would change which is just plain annoying! Am I better off creating my own race and waiting for people to join me rather than the opposite?

PGR4 seemed to have a much slicker online racing interface even though gt5 is much more dynamically rewarding?

Thanks,

Narrow your search by "race for real" or "race for fun" instead of free run rooms, and when you found a good race/host, you can send them FR.This will help your limited time by just entering their room in another time/day..or you can create your own room and regulations.
Hope this help you a bit.cheers :)

This is why I hate GT5's online so much! There is absolutely no form of matchmaking in this game. I really wish we could at least have online events like in GT5P. And it doesn't help that matchmaking is in the manual and the back of the box yet after 1+ years, and it still isn't in...

Unfortunately, I have the same problem as you. Takes too long to find a room that's actually racing when all I really have time for is a few quick races, not to waste time searching for a room then waiting for the host to start the race whenever.

I created a room once and it didn't really take as long as I expect to fill up, probably because I had Spa as the track and that might have attracted some people. However, I've only done this once and it requires quite a bit of patience, and unfortunately, I really don't like wasting time waiting for people to join. Sure, I can do other things in the mean time, but I would have to keep stopping what I'm doing to check on the room. Just not my cup of tea.

That's interesting. I'll have to try this sometime.

Spa are getting HOT nowadays..mostly for "Streetcar Racing".Not to mention with good regulations and hosting, that'll become even more HOTTER lol.
But sometimes repetitive track is boring. It all depends on the host IMO
