I'm just about to go out and buy a steering wheel that I noticed for sale in a local 'free ads' leaflet. The thing is, it's an old man selling it for his grandson. The man doesn't know what make it is, but assures me it works (it's going for £40), It just says in the advert "PS3 Steering Wheel for sale - call 077XX XXX XXX".

Are there only a select few wheels that work with GT5, and/or are there certain makes/brands that I should avoid (it's a fair distance away so I don't want to just get there and say no thanks)? I'm thinking it's probably a random third-party wheel but you never know; I could get lucky! :D

I'm leaving shorty so any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Rikki. :)

This seems sketchy. I wouldn't go for it but if you're doing it, then good luck.

Well I don't think I'll arrive there and be bundled into a car and murdered. :D

I'm certain there is indeed a wheel, so just go with me on this one - are there only a certain amount of PS3 wheels that will work with GT5?

Warrantied wheels that will work with GT5
Logitech:
DFGT
DF Pro
G25
G27
(And the other ones that appear as supported on GT5 options menu)
Fanatec
911 Turbo S
GT2
GT3
If you wanna go safe on this, you should stick to this 2 brands (even though I dont think you get any Fanatec or G25-27 for that price).

Good luck

Thanks. I'll tell the man at the door I'm only looking for one of those 2 brands, if it's not I'll just say sorry it won't work... 👍

Yeah I don't think I'll be buying this. Phoned the man there to ask what was written on the wheel and after a few muffled words he said "What, sorry, what?..." (something like that) and then hung up. So I phoned back again and it rang once and went straight to answer machine. :D

I'm guessing his grandson bought GT5 and then realised his wheel wasn't supported so bought a Logitech or something. The old man did say earlier something like "Yeah it works but my grandson got another a couple of weeks ago..." Kinda ominous when I think about it.
