Quick Tuscan Question

Well....I finally got over my cheap, wont-buy-a-single-car-ness and got the speed 6 since I can't win it anywhere. Now....I'm polishing off the British GT cup (gotta use an English car.....) and I'm looking at the Tuscan challenge next. Now....I recall wiping the floor with the AI in this race last time, and I couldn't drive for beans back then. So....I was wondering how much I'm gonna need to top the AI in the tuscan series. Right now I've got 420 hp with a muffler, chip, and oil, new tranny minus lsd, new brakes, and T2's. From what I read over in the write-ups, the AI aren't that fast. But....anyone care to share how slow of a tuscan they've won this one in?

My suggestion...

Fully tune the tuscan, run the cup and dog them all.

Go do that for everything in the game.

Then come to the weekly race series and learn to take your skills to the next level.

Then after that, go back to the game with a tuscan modified on every level with the exception of one thing: power.

That's right... get every mod, then leave the engine alone. :D

That will give you a serious challenge, but with all the upgrades (including lightweight 3) you should be able to win.

If you can't, just put a sports muffler, a chip, and a stage1 na... that should easily take care of the competition.

Be sure to come back and let us know how it goes. 👍

btw, good luck. :D

Well...I was the one that wanted to run a brit car in the brit champ. I kno the game doesnt make you do it.....

Anyways....I HAVE been trying to skimp on the power upgrades.....I only got a chip and muffler. Well....it was a racing muffler......and I did get new oil.....

Oh ya...and I got race suspension, too. And I'm walking all over the ms elise in the brit cup.

Oh, well, oil...!

Always work the oil.
It may alter the horsepower but it is actually just part of the breaking in process.

When I setup weekly races I never use a sim car without allowing oil changes.

Regarding the brit thing...
That's cool... actually, it's the same thing I did.
I would stick to it, makes things a little funner. :D

There is one more thing I want to stress...
If you're new enough to be asking questions about how to win races or what to do it with, then check this out...

That link should lead you to the OLR school (thank boombexus).

That is the place to get a start on how to really tune your suspension as well as all sorts of other elements regarding racing in this game.

Setting up your suspension properly is gonna be key to running races the way you're talking about.

I'm not trying to say you don't know what you're doing or anything like that... I have no clue what you do or don't know...
What I'm saying is that there are tricks to setting up suspensions and often times those "tricks" can make a 1 or 2 second difference in an individual lap scenerio.
Take that into account when you're running a 10 lap race and all the sudden as little as .5 seconds faster per a lap can be a major difference. :mischievous:

Like I said before, good luck and keep us informed.
oh yeah...
Welcome to the gtp!

Forgot this too...

Should lead to "m-spec's tuning guide"
Good stuff! 👍

PP I ran this race with T2 tires, semi-race suspension, race exhaust, race chip, NA1 upgrade, stage 1 weight reduction and full race tranny.
My pwr was 2.304 (PAL). I won first 4 races by + 30 seconds, the A1 improve in the last race which makes setting up for this series harder.
I think Go Kents was giving you the answer as if you do not know anything but I feel from your question that you are an experienced racer asking how to make the game harder and more challanging.
Are you by any chance doing the A Spec challange over at Racing Line? That is a challange that requires 100% GT3 completion in minimum days, minimum cash spent, and rules on cars used. Good Luck if you are. Sounds sort of like what you are aiming for.

Edit (no offence meant to you Go Kents,)

T2 Super Slicks. Full stop.
Nothing else. You should be able to win every race in this league in a stock Speed 6 Tuscan with no mods. No oil change. Nothing. This car is so frugal on tyres that you'll barely be touching yellow by the end of a 10 lap race, but Slicks or Medium Slicks make you too quick to have any competition.
Honestly. I ran with mods the first few times and it got so booooring after a while.
Test course can be really tricky, but hang in there. Only race worth qualifying for and only then so you can draft your way round 10 laps and pop out over the finish line for a 1/10th of a second win! Otherwise they'll leave you off the starting blocks!
If its your first time through the game, do exactly what GoKents suggested. Win for the sake of those % points in whatever way you can.
When you're on your 3rd or 4th pass throught the entire game, a challenge is well appreciated, and my suggestion will give you just the right amount of challenge without being too difficult as long as you can pull off 10 clean-ish laps, with no spins.
The Speed 6 is one of the nicest out-of-the-box cars in the game. A wee bit tail-happy, but once you recognise that as a feature to be tamed, you're Golden!

Have fun. :)

I think I ran this series in a Tuscan just like GoKents described: T2 tires, full build suspnsion, lightweight, brakes, and trans/LSD, but pushing 379 hp. I was usually able to win by around 7 seconds starting from the back of the pack.

a fully modded car without tuning and i lapped them all but one race :) and i dont think im that good...

Ta da!
Doesn't that just back up what I said? Change tyres on stock Tuscan Speed 6 to T2 Super slicks. Run 10 absolutely clean laps and you'll win. There's no secret, how much of a challenge are you after?

I concur! For the Tuscan races, if you want a bit of a challenge this series is really it just as Smallhorses says! 👍 It takes a bit of time and a bit of driving prowess but handles well and ample power. You will need to spend a little drafting time when it comes to the test track but, that only makes that race more fun.

Fully modded Tuscan is a killer car and even with minor mods will destroy this series.

Well...I just did the trial mountain part of the series, and it was really easy.....I left in the racing chip, took off the muffler, and tuned everything else up. I was 5 seconds up at the end of the 1st lap, about 30 seconds up at the end. Next race, I'm dumping the chip and probably the lsd. So...I'll be running stock hp with lightening, race suspension, race drivetrain minus lsd. I'm not so sure of taking everything else off cause I've been off gt3 for about a month, so I'm still banging lots of walls.

i love my tuscan but mine is fully built.....If you can u should try to get it fully built cuz its such a fun car to drive...But like everyone else has said u dont need it fully modded to win the race... The prize is mediocre IMO for the pro circuit tuscan challenge...10 laps 3 races for a speed 12 that wasnt that impressive :yuck: good luck
