I bought a Taymia Altezza HKS Racing R/C (TA-04 R).

I was wondering if someone who knew about R/C's could help me.

What is a good motor for an AWD R/C. I want a good balance of speed and pick up. I was thinking of a 17 triple turn.

Also were can I get different rims/tires and a different body. I like that body but I'll beat it up to much when I race.

I had some other cars but they were pre-builts so I don't know how to build them but I can race them.

Thanks

Well I can't help you on the motor issue but for new rims and bodies just check out your local hobby shop. That's where I got mine.

I've got an rs4 2nd gen bmw 328ci model. It has a 15 star ?? motor in it and it hauls balls. A little too fast actually, before I was use to it's handling I opened it up in a school parking lot that had big curbs. Well I smashed it into a curb and it ended up throwing the into kit apart. Yeah, the repair cost is going to be quite hefty.

any way I got tired of the bmw body and went to my hobby store and got a corvette c5 body.

so just go to a hobby shop man.

Thats the thing the nearest hobby shop is a good hour away.

Well I found a the following bodies:

Calsonic Skyline
Penzoil Skyline
Loctite Skyline
Castrol Tom's Supra

I don't know which one to get.

Yeah, with you on the kerbs thing. I've got a Kyosho GP Landmax with a Subaru Impreza shell. Crashed it in an "out of range" incident, at at least 30mph. Repair bill currently standing at £50 and 20hrs. And it's still not running right!

Well the final bill for my car when I bought it was $643.18. I hope I don't **** it up.

mines one you have to build it really hard cause my hands are to big for little ball bearings. Also putting the gears on is really hard to do.

I had mine built because I didn't have any experience, and I'm not as practical as I'd like to be! Also, we didn't have the space to lay a kit out for a few days at the time. If I were going to buy another car now, I'd definitely build it myself - picked up quite a lot of knowledge from the crash it/fix it cycle!

I've always had prebuilds and swapped the motor and tires. Then I raced it. I have knowlege about RWD but not AWD. Thats why I don't know what kinda motor to get.

Electric. The gas one I wanted was $1000. I didn't wanna pay that much. I got mine with upgrades for a little over half.

sorry i cant help but good luck with your rc racer :D last rc i had was the ones you can drive and when it hit somthing it flipped over and you can still drive it :D i thought it was cool lol
