R.E. AMEMIYA RX-7 vs Suzuka Circuit

Notes on car setup:
I'm running this in Time Trial (arcade free run) with no driving aids, no power or weight modifications, and changing the tires. I will create a leaderboard and include which set of tires you ran on.

And it turns out that soft tires are entirely too easy so I'll be backing off until I find a set that give me a challenge. I imagine they race on hards.

Oh, I'm running it in arcade mode, the new free run. Is it called Time Trial? I can't remember. I guess aids are up to you, but I find it faster to run without them.

Using R5 tires? What about weight/power settings, leave default?

On those first few runs I left everything at default. Except maybe tires, I can't remember.

Well I'm making ground on this. I started with the Super Soft tires and am working my way up. I actually have turned in my fastest time with Medium tires.

Anyone else?

I did the track in 2'09.946 on medium tyres and no driving aids.

Why is your time slower with softer compound tires?

You also have to understand that in real life, the driver may not be pushing the car 100% for safety reasons.

I mean they're good, but if you think about it, they aren't as good as us.

Well, I fired off a couple of laps on each tire compound just to get a feel for it. I started with the softest and worked toward the hardest, so by that time I had done a few more laps and was more familiar with the car and track.

And yes, we have no fear like they do.
