A close friend/family friend died early this morning at 22 years old. He go into a car with someone who was drinking after a party and there was an accident and he was killed. He was a great kid and someone I always looked up to growing up. The whole community from where he is from is in mourning. He was a record holding swimmer and a funny dude.

Please keep him in your prayers along with his family.

I hate drunk driving accidents. For some reason, the passengers are always the ones killed, and the drunken idiot behind the wheel somehow always survives.

Sorry for your loss, man. :guilty:

i know this story all too well..i too once had a very best friend who made the same mistake. He and two really cool girls took a ride with a pure freaking waste of life who was blasted off his behind. it was a rainy night and apparently the clown tried to take an off ramp in excess of 100mph. The very next day in the morning news i saw the guy's car in a crumpled heap and my stomach fell to the floor. I lost a friend, a really nice girl ended up comatose and her sister broke her hip, leg, right arm and collar bone. I never saw the guy again but if i do lord knows i'll probably end up in jail..

I am sorry for your loss, and I agree with Reventon, they risk the lives of all the others in the car, and somehow they find a way to make it.

My condolences to you and his family. R.I.P

Drunks are dangerous to themselves and others.

All drink drivers should be given a death sentence, if they kill someone. I hate how they never end up getting harsher penalties.

That always sucks to hear. Sorry to hear about the lost of your friend socomplayer2...... :(

I could agree with that statement, but its something that nobody have control of. There could be better suggestion like not drinking at all or have the neighbor or someone at the party to look over drunk people and make sure they don't drive in that state. No, but I think Alcohol should be outlawed to people who are not responsible enough or jack up the price so that people can't buy tons of beer for partying..... 👍

I know the pain. my brother's friend (28) had just pulled through after a tragic Kidney tumor, had a celebration and his drunk buddy fell asleep at the wheel of a van and drove into the side of his own house

Surely it can't be the standards of crash protection these days, but I agree.

Sorry to hear about the death. Far too many kids are dying because of drunk driving...

I don't understand while people still drink and drive. They're just throwing their lives away. My condolences.

:-)

This sucks... RIP for your friend Ryan.

I suppose this might be a wake up call for me to re evaluate my habits and be more strict/clear cut about drinking...

I'm not quite sure what to say here since I kinda am a hypocrite when it comes to drinking and I don't want to be upsetting anyone... I used to be the designated driver since I didn't like drinking. Now that I'm starting to tolerate beer and have liked hard liquor it's been harder to be that sober person.

I've admitted it here before and I know people don't take it too seriously and don't blame them, but it's something that we obviously need to deal with repeatedly. I've drank and driven, but when I say this I mean buzzed not drunk off my ass to where I know I can't drive or I know that it wouldn't be safe. When I do this it's a short distance from a friend's house and I drive that much slower as well as that much more attentive since I know the reaction time is that much worse.

With this said... 1. I know it's still not safe, but driving in general can be unsafe too. 2. It's much much more dangerous for me to be driving sleepy because I spend all my energy just trying to stay awake much less driving... I've done that much less than driving "drunk" and when I say less I don't mean I've driven drunk that much either...

Finally, I'm not trying to make excuses for me or anyone that does drink and drive. I guess I might be going about it in the perspective of a Smoker for the lack of a better example... Anyway, I feel everyone should be entitled to a "good time", but the driving part is a problem...

Discuss... ? :scared:

Very very sorry :guilty:

Right now he will be dreaming all of his life since he was born, then once he dreams his last day he will rest in peace.

Some one told me when you die, you'll dream ALL of your life day by day. Just like living your life twice. Thats why some times you feel like you know whats going to happen.(DEJAVU)

VERY SORRY AGAIN :guilty: I've been there
