My poor little laptop which i dearly loved has been prone to problems since day, well, since i've had it a few months. I bought it primarily because i wanted a laptop, and the 4 year old desktop (which i am currently using) was getting a bit slow.
So, for te first few months, it was fine, no problems whatsoever, but by march it was beggining to slow down and overheat. So, we started using the desktop again. I turned the laptop on the other day, and it started up, got to the windows loading bit, and restart. I then said that there was a recent harware change, and that if i knew of no recent hardware change, to start normally, or i could start in safe mode. I selected start windows normally, and, as before, t got to the loading bit, resatarted and showed me the options of how to start windows once again. This time i selected safe mode, and safe mode opened up.
I did a system restore to a few days ago when it was working. It finished and restarted, and still showed the choices of how to open windows.
I've tried system restoring several times, at different points of restore, and i still cannot open windows normally.
Luckily, we did take out the insurance plan pcworld gave us, so we'll take it in tomorrow to see what they make of it.
R.I.P my pain in the butt Toshiba. (hopefully they'll offer us a new and different laptop, and Not that one again.
