Audi did seem to not give weight distribution much thought when designing the chassis' but the new ones should fix that, with the new TT being the first step.

The S8 might not complety fixes it, but it is greatly improved on, just like the RS4.

It's more exciting because it is a faster vehicle. Not because it is a better driving machine at it's core than the 7-series or S-class.
In all fairness though, the Audi A8 by itself is probably ahead of the original 7-series, tied with the refreshed one and behind the S-Class. It's a substantially better car than the 750i, but the driving excitement of the 7-series would make me prefer it over the A8.

Being that the 7er looks like a barge version of the 3er I would take the S8.

Well they didnt just stick in a more powerful engine, the quattro got a reworking, the chassis did too and the whole car is more sporting orientated.

The 7er would be my last choice, Id probably take a lexus before it TBH.

I know they also retuned the suspension and such, but it still suffers from all of the problems of the normal A8; such as numb steering, poor weight distribution and poor power split from front to rear.
There is nothing that can compete (with a stick shift) with the driving feel of the BMW 7-series at that size and price point, so I would take the 750 in a heartbeat. And Lexus? The car they have in this class is the LS430, which is indeed a potentially sporty car which is murdered by it's safety nannies and compliant suspension.
