Does anyone else but me find the prototypes to just have an excessive lack of grip? You take the B09/86, the ARX-01/b, ARX-02/a, the RS Spyder Evo, basically, any R1 class prototype (except the Audi and the Peugeot....) and all you're experiencing is excessive wheel spin through the first, second and sometimes third gear. You can never take a corner the way you feel you should unless you're going fast enough (which I'll address as well) because the rear end is going to kick out because the tires never seem to be heated properly no matter what you've done, and you find yourself (or at least I have) blipping the the throttle just to keep the damned thing in one constant direction when turning into/out of a tight bend, banked curve, hairpin, etc...and more often than not that's not effective so I have to snail my way around the corner pretty much afraid that I can't push it too hard because I'll be facing the opposite direction...

It feels like Forza 2 all over again.

Only R1 car I have is the RS Spyder Evo. Use of the throttle in anything below 3rd gear seems to be a big no-no, unless you're just barely touching it. But as long as you remember that (I frequently don't ), you should be mostly fine.

I personally don't know if it's realistic or not though... for starters, I'm playing with a pad. And also, I've never driven anything remotely similar to it in real life.

Yeah lets just say driving the Bentley Speed 8, with no aids, on Fujimi Kaido and with a controller is basically impossible.

This. You simply cannot push it at all, if you do you'll end up in the other direction....no matter how much throttle you're using, no matter how precise your steering is.

It's not my intention to start a flame war but as far as I remember I was able to drive a LMP1 race car even on GT4, with a controller, and being the bad racer I am. In my opinion, it might have something to do with Audi and Peugeot being the biggest and most important teams present in the game (Like the Pescarolos on GT4, since those cars are sponsored by Sony and GT they were even faster than de R8LMP).

I'm not really sure how that's relevant to the issue.

You're implying that the Audis and Peugeots were intentionally made easier to drive?

they can be difficult to drive with a pad, used the RS spyder for the one lap series, anything with sharp hairpins such as the first race is difficult to say the least, but for fast flowing tracks such as the ring its perfect

the 16 RS Spyder is my favourite car in the whole game, change the gearing so you can take hairpins in 1st gear
