Thanks man. I try to drift close to the outside as possible without hitting walls or grass...since thats the way NFSU judges you. :)

Nice work, son.
Try drifting the R34 with the horsepower it has.
Faster = Easier

There is nothing hard about drifting the R34 with the base horsepower or any other car with base HP. But what advantage would it be to drift it at its stock HP? Stock power with Sim tires are equal to Tuned Engine with slicks/mediums/soft tires. Only difference is your going to take longers to complete your lap if you running stock.

Faster = Funner and requires faster eye and hand cordination
Stock power = BORING. Takes longer to get from point A to B.

Drifting technique and experience are required for both cases... you don't have to drift a stock powered car to convice you are skilled. But I think everyone started with stock power and sims and moved forward with tuned engines and grippier tires, I did.
I think you will too... because its goign to get boring driving slow when you can drive faster if you tune you engine. :)

Slow/Low HP means your goign to want to equipe sim tires.

Fast/ High HP means you can equip tires other than sims and produce the exact same results only done faster.

Slow/Low HP = greater challenge because you need to hold the line and angle longer and the car has less stability at lower speeds, meaning it is more sensetive to driver input, so it requires greater skill to keep it looking smooth and on the ideal line.

Fast/High HP = 'Funner', faster, more stable, requiring less careful input. Not to mention; it's unrealistic.

Personally, I think slower, perfectly controlled drifts just look better than these overly fast ones I see in too many videos, based on these facts.

Remember: it's not about speed, it's about control.

u think fast in unrealistic...........lol

dude u have not seen much...look around i have seen so many people on countless real life videos go so bloody fast while drifting. plus u would have to go faster is AWD.

and when i was in brisbane a while ago with a drift club they were going quite fast while drifting in the pooring down rain.

i live on the Gold Coast in Australia.

peace minihux

nice drifting. yes. almost like "Catch-my-drift" drifts
mess with your capture quality and if you are capturing drifts and it laggs. the vid will lag. kinda blury.

I use stock hp and sims and I'm doing 60mph on some turns. 60 when sideways IS fast if this were real life.

i cant see ****.

....its a pixel apocalypse.

the drift breaker part comes out good though. lol

I don't disagree on the facts you've listed. I've drifted with low HP + sims much much before, and still do a bit here and there. they do look better in replays because you have more time to control your car than if you were drifting fast.

Low HP with sims presents a more sensitive input for control, but that doesn't necassarly mean more difficult. In my case, it does allow me to produce my best looking drifts, because it gives me more time to provide the inputs "in-time" to make my drifts go in the right line and angle. I felt by being able to drift in slow mo it wasn't realistic, thats why I don't prefer to use Low HP + Sims. I think that Sims with Low HP is a tad bit unrealistic because when you watch real drifters, they are pressed for time and are quickly shifting, steering, yanking the ebrake and gasing. When I use Low HP + sims, its like laying back and not being afraid because you have time to react to any situation because your not moving all that fast and don't even need much weight transfer to start your drifts because you can step on the trottle, you powerover your rear with sims to get your desired angle much easier than with other tires. Don't get me wrong, Low HP and SIMs is difficult depending on its situation (someone new to its behavior will spin out lots of time thus making it difficult), BUT I still think if you try to produce nice replays with faster cars and non sim tires, its more challenging because if requires faster response from you to control the car and more weight transfer technique to break the tire traction of non-sim-tires.

Keep in mind I don't drift much with the controller, I use a wheel and the wheel gives you way more control over your inputs than a controller would, so when I drift in sims, its pretty easy to control.

Maybe if you had a wheel you'd understand where I'm coming from here. Because if you watch some replays of someone drifting with a wheel, the drifts come effortless, not much panic in the inputs, so you can imagine what its like with SIMs.

^what he said.

except for me.....i use a controller, and the fast super powered cars are MUCH more difficult than the low powered ones.

IMO, at least.
