Ok guys thats the 1st Race of 2 that will Run for 2 weeks until .. Monday 6th September - 17.00HrsGMT
I will post another Race then which will be a Hotlap and Run over another 2 week deadline! The best 10 scores over both Rounds with verified times will be Automatically selected for Team GTP đź‘Ť

Points awarding will be announced after we see how many run race 1:cool:

I know there is a lot of great Talent amongst us đź‘Ť Have fun and good luck ...

also to the few members who will be racing for their own Home Boards ! You guys understand this is a Team selection race and hopefully you wont try to run these 2 races :D But best of Luck to you guys in the main event :cheers:

Ahh, the Panoz Esperante, GT3's equivalent of that dog nobody loves :lol:.

Ran some laps, and with some off-track excursions, AI contact on lap 1, and a hastily tuned car, I managed to complete the race in 8'52.278, with laps ranging from mid to low 1'4x.xxx.
 
Hey! Famine, I'll have you know the Panoz may be fugly and sound dog rough but it's a great car to drive ;) Just had a quick go of the combo and combining the Panoz with GVII was a good choice IMO :p

And what's up with a timeless leaderboard? :D

You think the Panoz is great? They must have been putting LSD in the municipal water supply...
 
Some tuning in free run, and a first shot at the race:

Best: 1'39.636 (dirty)
Total: 8'36.326 (dirty)

My T1's in free run were as low as 21.3, but the best race T1 I could manage was 22.1 :confused:

A question about AI contact - does getting raped by a Camaro (or similar) in the chicane on the first lap constitue "AI contact"? I'm assuming yes, and that the race is dirty :grumpy:

EDIT:

Some mo' work, especially on the first lap, trying to figure out some strategy:
T1 (1st lap): 29.1 (dirty, but only minor avoidable contact, so it should be possible to do it clean)
T2: (1st lap): 55.5 (dirty) 55.9 (clean)
First Lap: 1'48.2 (dirty)

And a new total time of 8'32.293 (in case there was any doubt ... dirty!)
 
Looking forward to this a lot. I havent really driven the Esp in a competitive race.

Question - If we are running at one of the AI smacks into the back end is that a dirty lap ??

Suggestion - The thread title needs to have BC4 in it ??

Question - Are we all putting up our total lap times and our single lap times too ?? So its not like the weekly where we only post "T" times ?? Cos I'd have thought we shouldnt post total race times or total lap times until we see the results ?

 
1st try: 8:36.026 clean

Well, I did have 2 re-starts. 1st one the Vertigo plowed me in the 1st turn and the second one I went 4 tires off on the high speed first bend. :O

I don't think I'll make the top 10, but it's a fun combo to run. đź‘Ť

I'll give it a couple more tries I'm sure. :dopey:

*Edit- Disregard, I had the TCS on. :banghead:

I think Jarama beige metallic is the best choice, since it's the only color Famine doesn't support.
 
I gave it a quick try tonight (2 races only).
First, I start at 599 hp, and I didn't check after the 10 laps how much the car had broken in, but I guess 618hp will be reached around 200 miles.

I had about the same final times (Race 1 in 9'10.323, race 2 in 9'09.175), and most laps in the 1'46.xxx.
No settings, not many clean laps but lots of lawn-mowing experiences and many black flags if it had been a real race.
Definitely need practice and self-control to drive fast and clean with the 5 Artificial Idiots who keep braking where there is no need for that :grumpy:
 
The biggest challenge is getting ahead of those 5 bricks on the track.
 
Hmm... I'll give this is a go but I doubt my chances of making the cut are that high. Still, one can only try.

I have 588hp on mine, it's a racing car so it shouldn't need to be broken in flat-out.

Hadn't changed the oil, 618hp now.

Uh, just had another thought - verified times, as in, you can't upload a replay you can't make the team?
 
Thats pretty much it Eagle - No way of posting a replay = No way into the team. Perhaps we should combine our powers as you are more than likely a quicker racer than me but I have x-port to post replays !

That's an expensive combination, if you need to mail the mem card from Australia to England and back each time you need a replay...
 
That's what PPP is for: Pen, Paper and Pigeon.

Guess I won't be running after all then. Gotta try and find an Xport in Aus.
 
WHOA!!! :eek: Just gave 'er a test spin & it's a bit of an "Eye Opener." 100% Clean as far as ME Hittin' THEM...but THEY seem to have an "Unsolicited Attraction" to my rear end!!! Maybe another "AI" Combo will be better but driving "In-Car" it's VERY Difficult to tell where the "AI" are gonna come from to Smack you AGAIN!!! :guilty: We'll See! ...UB57 :D

Prepare for some serious AI frustration.

I still don't know how I got a clean run on my 3rd start (the one above with the TCS on). :confused:
20+ re-starts later and I have a clean 8'36, but my fastest lap is almost a full second faster than the other 3 flying laps. :irked:

Average lap is a 1'42 flat, my fastest lap was a 1'41.113. Best start lap was a low 1'49.

I also tried a different AI field several times, and while some are better than others, they all suck.
 
Should I go and buy a new DS2 before I even start !!

On a good note though Im glad Ive got some times to work towards. Hopefully I'll enjoy it !
