one way we could keep money from flowing like water in GT5, is to have a "entry fee" for any race/tournament, but in the form of a bet.
Say Race_01, everyone had to bet $200 on themselves to win, to enter the race. If they win, they get 70% of the bet money, 2nd gets 20%, and 3rd gets 10%.
You can alter this around a bit and say, why not make your own bets? Say the more money you bet, the harder your competition is? Say a race has a "minimum" bet of 500, but you have a race_car_of_speed and you know you will destroy the competition for a measly 500, why not throw more money in? Well, this would attract better cars/racers that you'd have to race to get the big pot. Of course every race would have to use a minimum and a maximum bet, so that the game wouldnt revolve around one race (why would you progress in the game if you could sit there at one track and get enough to buy all the buyable cars?)
Also, this would make online play more ineteresting, or maybe even leave it for online mode only, and have offline mode just have "entry fees"?
