Sort of something I remember from playing Tiger Woods back on the Wii.
Out in the real world, events are planned well in advance of when they happen, especially something as big as a race season. Venues, times, etc. are all known weeks or even months in advance. What I propose is to add a "Race Calendar" mode to GT and have the events for a given race series.
Example, NASCAR. The NASCAR season includes several weekends, which include qualifying, practice and the actual race. On the game calendar for February show me the Daytona race weekend. Have qualifying day, practice day and race day. Do this for all the events on the NASCAR calendar. Open this up to any series for which cars are included in the game, hopefully to include F1, Blancpain, SuperGT, etc. Each series would be selectable from a top menu, which would display it's own calendar with the option to combine a number of series on one calendar.
The events are only available starting the day of, not into the future. In other words if it is Saturday 2/22 I cannot start a race that is Sunday 2/23 in real life; I would have to wait a day. Past events would be playable openly and, like the seasonals in GT6, I can only post to the leaderboard in a 2 week time frame.
Rules could be the same as each series. If I qualify with one car I can't make changes to settings or switch cars without whatever penalty exists. Tire restrictions would be nice to have matched up with something close to their real life counterparts so I can see how close I can lap the track to the pros.
"Nice to haves" would include real time weather for major series, laptime tracking, maybe even a "watch the race in GT" feature that would include some sort of on-car tracking that translates into each car running in GT exactly (or near as possible) as it does in the real life race. Obviously there's a need for partnership and negotiation as far as broadcasting, etc.
Open for additional suggestions!
