I unlocked the Extreme level but i might as well not.
To compete i need a race car.
To get one (just one) i'll have to finish at front of about 300-500 races or more.

I wonder what PD where thinking?
That we'll take on GT5 as a daytime job?

Maybe 300 - 500 races is a bit exadurated?
Anyway, if you want to earn money faster you can do the seasonal races, especially those with performance point bonus, you'll get the cash pretty fast that way.

With the seasoanls you can earn a ton of credits quickly, so it's not a big of a problem it was when the game came out.

Edit: Tree'd. :(

Thanks both of you for info about seasonal races. I will check them out.

FF Seasonal - Cape Ring - it's like an ATM!

Buy the Puegeot 205 hatchback (or is it 206?) tune is slightly. Add ballast to make the car more of a 50/50 weight balance while reducing the PP at the same time. Reduce engine performace from 100% down to whatever you think you want to try. I've gone as low as 78% or so... but that get's tough. Try 95 or 90% at first.

Eventually, get the car in the 370-380 PP range (or slightly less for a bigger challenge).

I cash more than 1,000,000 per race in about 10 minutes. (with 200% sign in bonus) Note - if you are taking the lead on lap 2 or 3, you can handle more de-tuning, and the subsequent drop in PP will net you more credits. Keep detuning until you get to the point where you don't take the lead until late in lap 4 or prefereably in lap 5 for maximum $.

Don't brake nearly as much as the driving line says (if you use the driving line that is)

Also - vist the Giveaway Thread in the Marketplace Forum. I gave away a Level 23 ticket there today, and tickets/paint/cars are flying all over the place. Newbies get stuff for CERTAIN! be sure to read the OP - first post in the thread. Unfortunately a few bad apples have forced some simple rules to go into effect. Nothing major - no taking three gifts in the same day to allow others to get some items as well, rules like that.

If you have friends perhaps you could borrow a car from them. Friends can share up to 5 or 6 cars that you can borrow in community - profile.

If you do not wish to cash in on the seasonals. Try this

Get your b spec a MX-5. Let him win the Mazda Furai for you in Miata race. That's one superb car for winning some of the extreme/expert level.

Corvette Z06 after race modification is another low cost race car you can get with under 400k.

The car you need to save for are the Formula GT (5million)and Nascar (750k).

BTW drop me an FR if you need me to put cars on share or give away any tradeable car.

Good luck!

With the seasonals money is no object. Want 20 million? 30 races maximum. Just race the ones with big rewards with a decent car tuned up and on RS. 1st pays around 1,000,000 credits in several races. The new seasonals with pp bonus can pay more using cheaper cars to start with. Every time you complete a challenge with wins in all races you get a car.

Just as an edit, nascars are 500k

Thanks for the tips all of you. I will try them out.

The Z06 is my favourite car so far. It's affordable, fast and very driveable. I like the sound with stock exhaust too.

Got the Ford GT 06 too. It's very fast and has good sound. Just needs an adjustable transmission, since the stock gears are very long.

I wonder which racecar has the best price/performance ratio?

Some of the seasonals will pay 2.2 million per race, or more, depending on how your car is set up (i.e. detuned).

Only problem with the seasonals is that my logon to Playstation network gets timed out most of the time.

That's the first thing you gotta work on.

Clear cache in game settings, hard wire the ps3 if possible. Shut off all pc's and iPods.

Also most don't know about port forwarding.. Basically leaving your router open to gt5 constantly. Simple web search will show you which ports you will need open and how to open them. Every game uses different ports.

But if your Internet provider sux then there's no helpin ya. Check your upload and download speed on your ps3's connection test and tell us. Or use a website like speedtest.net

Download speed is 7.5 Mbit and upload is 0.38. Internet connection stable and works on ps3, it's the logon to Psn that gets timed out.
I tried with a cable but it didn't work better. I can logon to Psn on my PC.

I don't have a clou which ports i should forward to the ps3.
It's weird because sometimes logon works.

Once you go seasonals you never go back. ;-)

Since logon to PSN only works maybe 1 out of 30 times i have to be very patient.

I still don't get why they made this big difference between money earned in seasonals versus offline.

Seasonal is much faster :)
A Spec : 4WD 530 PP Challenge ( Any detuned 4wd car ) Detuned it to like 400 PP 1.2 Mil per 9 Mins
