hi all,
first i want to excuse me for bad english, but i am from sweden :)

my question:

last week i bought a ps2 and the first game i wanted to have was GT3:D

i knew from the old ps one version (gt1 &gt2) that for the most cars u were able to buy that nice looking racing cases.

but in GT3 i can't find that option

until now i have 6 cars and none of them have the option to buy a racing case.
(i remember that u first had to do the weight reduction in GT2)

plz help!! :odd:

PD took out that little feature for GT3 (Damn you PD!!! Damn you to the blackest pit of rotten hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111) So no more cool looking cars, I still have no idea why they took out both the used cars and the Race Modifications, retards:mad: 🤬

damn!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:
i think that that was one of the best features.... cause then u could see that your car had really horsepower ;)

hm maybe in GT4 they take that feature again into the game... i hope.....

Not in GT4 either, (****ing **** wad PD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) I'm gonna start E-mailing them requesting it back in GT5, I figure if I start now and send 100 e-mails an hour they'll get the point, anyone got their E-mail?

No - and that's the point. You cannot say for sure that racing modifications are either in OR out - yet you just did.

Bear in mind that even when Kazunori Yamauchi says that something (for example, the Nurburgring Nordschleife) isn't in the game, it still might be. And that even if we see screenshots of things in the game, they might NOT be (remember the CLK-GTR that was in GT2's previews, but not the game).

Do not state rumour as fact.

Thank you, making mental note about that now. I'd be really happy to see that and used cars back in, I'm guessing the PD team's relative newbieness to the PS2 is why we had less cars, tracks and features am I correct?

Stonsen: Welcome to GTPlanet, don't worry about your English, I'm pretty sure we've even got people here from Sweden who could answer in your native tongue :)

You can't make your cars look like they did in GT1 and GT2, but you can still win and buy cars that already have those racing changes (big wings, better looking body, etc) so don't be too disheartened. Enjoy the game and if you need help, there are a lot of guides and information on these forums to help out.

The answer to this question has already been given, however, I wanted to comment on something I saw.

Now as other said, it can not be confirmed or denied... but, I do know a little bit about the racing modification being left out of gt3 and why or why not it will or wouln't be in gt4.

When I was lucky enough to catch an interview with the creator he commented on the lack of racing mods in gt3... he said that for every racing mod option they put in the game, there was less space for a different car.

Same exact thing for gt4. He said it would be nice to be able to modify street cars into race cars, but for every car he sets up to do that, there is another car that can't be in the game.

So what he stressed was that he would rather put in tons of pre-made race cars and unchangable street cars than not nearly as many cars (even though you might be able to racing modify those cars).

I think he is making the right call (considering "the call" is still just rumor).

But for me, I would rather have 500 cars without the racing modification option, than 100 cars with the option to racing modify.

Of course, I guess we will just have to wait and see because he specifically never said there wouldn't be any racing mods in gt4, so who really knows?

1) I agree heartily with what GoKents wrote above... though given the choice between race mods and passing up a dozen or so not-very-different AWD Japanese fanboy wundercars, I might choose the race mods...

2) stonsen, welcome to GTPlanet! Your English is as good as many people here who speak it as their native language, and better than some. Nobody minds reading through a post that is written as well as you can, we just get mad at people who should know better.
:)
Enjoy your stay here at GTPlanet!

In an ineterview/article I have with Kaz, he said racing mods will be back in GT4. However, this time there will be very few of them. They would be limited to just a few of the more popular cars in the game.

True, he could have changed his mind about doing this, too. So, like it was said before; we're going to neeed to wait for the final game.

I've read that we will be able to add bodykit's in GT4 for some cars. He never used the term racing kit's but thats prbably what he means when he said body kit's. But shouldn't we all go to the GT4 forums to discuss this.

I agree with GoKents mostly. But as neon_duke stated, i'd rather be able to Race-Modify my cars than have the option of buying 7 different F^@king Civics or 9 generations of stupid @$$ Lancer Evo's.

don't get all outraged and tell me how great civics and evo's are, that was not the point. The point is, I think having 200+ cars is alot, the more the better. But it's not like your going to drive even half of those. But it would be nice to race agianst cars you won't own (like for me, I would like to be able to smoke hondas and mitsu's with my toyota's). But I think not being able to change the exterior appearence of you car that has gone from 235 stock hp to 1000+ hp and now having every mod available just sucks! :irked:  :banghead: A simple paint editor would be great! If only PD would have a little chit chat with the geniuses at CRAVE (ie. TXR3  ), that would be great.

Your better off just assuming that it's NOT in the game. That way you won't be let down if it really isn't in the game.(I remember hearing that you could swim in Vice City, so whats the first thing my friend does? HE jumps in the ocean, nice.)

i really liked having racing modifications in gran turismo 2 and all but its not the most important thing in the world, if they are putting close to 500 cars in the game i think we will have enough variety to be satisfied either way. who knows maybe there will be more lm's in the game so you wont need the racing mod. get my point.

Watch yourself on the body kits vs racing kits definition there live4speed.

Paint Shop was shown as a GT4 feature at E3 recently, so you may very well get the chance to at least paint your cars 87chevy.

I have emailed my two contacts at sony/playstation, and hopefully they will reply back with the truth of these rumours. I will be sure to post with whatever information they send back.

In response to my email regarding Body Kits and other visual modifications for the cars in GT4:

"There will be more information regarding these features released at a later date. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any other questions."

Thanks,

Ryan

Take that as you will. I will continue to pull strings and pester people at PD until I get the response I am looking for.

I agree with tureno drifter on the first page if there can be ovr 500 cars in GT2 and have racing mods why can't there be like 250 cars and racing mods in gt3 or 4?

(don't yell at me:( )

take a looks at the cars and tracks in gt3. Look almost real, don't they? Now take a look at gt2. Not so real, eh? So much of the ps2's power goes into making the cars and tracks look as awesome as they do that it can only handle so much car information.

You can't compare the graphics of GT2 to GT3. The reason GT2's don't look as good is because of the hardware it was made to run on. GT2 had some of the best graphics on the PS.
