Race Driver: Grid-Online not working?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. When i go to play Grid online, it says that the connection was lost. I am signed in and perfectly fine, but it doesn't let me play online. I noticed the same thing with Dirt 1. Can code masters shut down the network for a certain game? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.
 
DiRT 1 has been out of the picture for quite some time - I bought it something like six months after D2 came out and there was no online even then.

You can still play some dead games online with VPN, you basically trick the game into thinking it's on LAN but it's not. Look up Tunngle, that's one program that does this, there are others but I can't remember the name. I tried to set it up once but got bored and gave up, it was only Splinter Cell: Conviction I was trying it with anyway.

Edit: oh yeah, I forget consoles exist. Forgive me, I was talking about the PC version...
