Sounds good to me!

The title says some of it, but not all.

3 races.
3 tire types.
3 drivetrain formats.

Racing format will be arcade mode with any settings (within car specs).

The actual organization of the races is being debated.
Either...
A) Standard weekly format, 1 week per race, 3 weeks of racing.
or
B) 3 week racing period with all races posted at one time and one final deadline for completing all of the races (driver's choice of which races to race and when to race them).

Opinions regarding the organization of the races are welcome.

All racers are welcome to join the fun!

Racing will most-likely start on Friday, December 2nd.

Hope to hear back from any interested racers.
Till next time,
-

Count me in 👍

I like the idea of all 3 combos at once 👍

Count me in aswell 👍

I vote for 3 races at once too :)

Awesome!

I haven't seen you around in a long time Hugo Boss!
Glad to have you pop in to say hello. :D

I'm also happy to see that both you and S.F. would like to see the 3 at once (my original intention for the series).

However, I want to warn you guys that these races are designed to be right on the edge of annoying and fun. ;)

As in, I'm trying to avoid giving the cars too much grip but at the same time I refuse to not give them enough grip to keep the race interesting.

I think you guys will be able to enjoy it. 👍

I also mentioned this idea to S.F. this morning...
That idea being, I am considering a second set or even a third set of races with the same base setup as the races previewed in my first post.

The races above are intended to be Japanese based, however, I would like to do a Euro Edition as well as an Original Courses edition.
Those will just have to wait. :p

Anyway, thanks for checking out the race previews.
I hope everyone enjoys the races once they are posted.

Until next time,
-Kent

Count me in, though I would have prefered a 1 race a week format. But I am in either way ;)

I have a question for you all...

Would you be interested in a set of well organized time trials?

Specifically...
Using the theme of this race setup.

N3, S3, R3.
FR, MR, 4WD.

Each tire and drive train combonation...
MR on N3, S3, R3
FR on N3, S3, R3
4WD on N3, S3, R3

Then, the tracks...
3 Japanese tracks
3 Euro tracks
3 Original tracks

9 Races in total.

I've pretty much organized it already down to the finest details.
Everything in arcade mode at full quick tune, any settings would be allowed.

In the end we could keep track of the individual lap times and results as well as the overall time (just like what we did with the time trials in GT3).

We could give it a little name and leave it open for racing without any deadlines or commitments.

What do you all think?
3 japanese tracks with the 3 drivetrains and 3 tires...
Then the same for Euro and Original tracks.

Sound good to you all?

Thanks for the input. :D

I'd be up for this although I think 9 races are a little too much. With Ron's series the interest had died down even by the 6th race and only a 3rd of the drivers were still there. I'd be more apt to go for a 3 race series than a 9 race, but either way I'm still planning on entering 👍

I hear that Ice. 👍
Nine races would push things a bit...

At the same time though...

With an open deadline and a time trial atmosphere, it would be possible to do all nine races in one year, or if your interested wasn't large enough, just spend one day one the whole group.

Of course, cutting the time trial set to only 6 races isn't a bad idea.

Would let us cover Europe and Japan. 👍
Same concept as what I mentioned before, only with Euro and Japan, not the original tracks. 👍

This would also allow me to skip the 4WD on N tires. :yuck:
Not a very good combo unless you are on a great car.

So,
Either stick to the original plan or go with the Euro/Japan 6 race scheme, or maybe (but doubtfully) the whole 9 race gig with original tracks and all.

Btw, I've decided that releasing of the races (whether it be 3 or 9) at the same time instead of waiting on a week to week schedule.
Also, on that note, the creation of a deadline will depend on what we decide to do.
If we do a 6 or 9 race time trial set then I will leave the entire thing open without any deadlines. However, if we decide to go with only 3 races then I will have to set a 3 week deadline. :p

Thanks for the input Ice.
I look forward to hearing from any and all of you. :D

PS. I like the 9 race idea because it gives us the chance to run each major drivetrain on each major tire type (on each of the major course types as well!).
Plus it gives the races symmetry. 👍

yes i like that idea kent

Time trial mode is great, i dont really like deadlines much anyway :sly:

6 races 👍

That last post 👍 👍

I say three races or at the most, 6 races.

If you decide to skip 3 races, please skip the R3 ones then. I've already have enough of those R tyres :yuck:

And Kent, the R34 Mines Skyline is sweet to drive on N3's ;)

If you don't mind that the same driver (me) trusts the last spot in every race, I'll be glad to run this too.
But I promise I can't practice more than 20 laps on any single race :)

:p
I don't mind if anyone wants to race, especially if they are ready to take my place in the results- last. :D

Well...
I've been working on the races, thinking about what goes well with what.

At this point, I am confident about saying there is a fixed race line-up. 👍

However, it's not what most of you wanted. :(

I figure you all can pick and choose the races you like.

Only race the races you want to, there is no reason to race if you do not like the race at hand. :sly:

I will post 9 races.
3 drivetrains, 3 tires, 3 track concepts (original, euro, japan)

I know that's too many races for most of you but that should not stop you from participating in one or however many races you want.

Remember, these time trials can be run seperate and individually, or you can work towards eventually having a time for each one.

In anycase, I thought I would let you all know that the races have been selected and the format is set. :D

I'm looking forward to posting the races.

I would be honored if you all would give each of the races a try.

Hope to see you all in the N3, S3, R3 Time Trial thread. :dopey:
Till then,
-Kent

Sounds great 👍

I'll be there :sly:

Because these Time Trials will not have a deadline, and because there are 9 of them, I don't think the short race series is the place to be. :dunce:

Since the "event" will be open for as long as there is interest, I am treating this like time trial threads from the past.

You can now find the race list in the spot race and lap time comparion forum...

Hope to see you all there! :D
