I don't wanna be the guy who rants about tires but I am getting sick of EVERY low PP room allowing Racing softs.
Why is there NEVER a room with tire restrictions?
I know there are racing leagues but they're never available when I am on.

I really wish the standards of GT5 lobbies would change. Racing softs are so boring and unrealistic feeling with low hp cars.

Does anyone feel this way?

Join my rooms, I always restrict the tires. I allow a max of sports soft on street and tuner cars and a max of racing hards on race cars.

I agree. I lost two races today by almost 20 seconds due to me racing in comfort medium, and the rest in racing soft. I couldn't find a single room with normal tyres. And I'm not putting racing tyres in my car just to race with a bunch of kids. They were nice and clean racers at least.

I would also like to see a room with people who don't modify their cars to the limits. Every single low room I join, everyone has their car dropped to the ground and with loud racing exhausts, plus who knows what else. It was so funny to see me today with my almost stock S13 Silvia being smoked by Minis, Fiats and such. I don't mind loosing, since I race for fun, but it's becoming annoying to be left behind so easily.

I'll keep on searching...

Host your own rooms. You can have all the restrictions you want then. I have hosted some rooms with un modified cars on ch tires. takes a while to fill up tho as not many people seem interested in driving the cars how there ment to handle.

Exactly.

Common logic says how majority of GT players are not so "hard-core" but want to play for fun or to be fast as possible with best handling as possible and minimum disadvantage in any potential handicap.

Good thing with GT is that can cater all type of players and you can open your own room with your own restrictions and wait for same-minded drivers to join.

But always know how there is probably 90% of players that just one to race without handicap and you can't really blame anybody for that.

Since removing option to fit Racing tires on street cars would not be logical - after all, if you have enough money in real life you can fit any tire on any car on racing track - there is hardly any solution to flood of rooms with RS tires.

Only solution I've think of in order to "popularise" normal compounds (Comfort/Sports) would be getting an extra XP/Cr if you'd opt to race with "default compound" in lobby race-options. During time of Prologue we had official-matchmaking races with Comfort and Sport compound under Professional venues and those were always the best races. It remains to be seen what can PD do in that direction in the future.

Main problem for me is, that you can't easily filter all the lobbies by something more than ASM off/on and track + few more to find the perfect lobby for yourself.
I like to create room with Sports Medium for FF cars up to 250HP and min 1050 Kg(unfortunately there is no way to set maximum weight). But no one will come to race.

I wish there was another option of online racing other than the open lobby. It's useless for me. There aren't enough filters, nor enough game information displayed before connecting to a game.

I can always create my own game, but by the time I've run around by myself for half an hour someone may join and then I'm bored and I'm out of time for the night.

I sorely miss the prologue online modes.

In my opinion, slower cars don't need RS or any race tires for that matter. Sport soft is my preference for regular street cars and in most cases sport hard or medium. Only race cars should be using racing tires.

I feel the same way. When I open rooms to race these are my settings and I get a full room quickly

Title: Xpp TT No AIDS

450pp= CS tires
500pp= SH tires
550pp= SM tires
600pp= SS tires

So the X would be the number
TT would be the tires.

It explains my rules and tire requirements to keep everyone happy.

I haven't run into problems with these settings yet. What time you normally are on I get on in the morning and sometimes evenings so look up the room title to race.

Looking for tyre restricted rooms is a real pain on your eyes as you have to browse through them and look at each one carefully to see if they limit the tyres. I wish PD would implement filters for PP and tyres. It would solve the issue.

Glad to hear there are some like minded drivers about! If you just buy every single upgrade, all the cars are similar, I like to do unmodified, Comfort races so car choice becomes a factor and it makes the racing so much more exciting. Racing a lightweight car like an S13 will be fast through the corners but a big v8 will have the advantage on the straight away. Each car has its own character and I find it so much more satisfying to learn the upsides and downsides to a car and have to alter my racing to a cars strengths. Feel free to add me to PSN for a race.

i joined a 'low PP' room the other day - 380PP- and the 8 or 9 cars in the room were wearing racing softs. This is the most ridiculous thing i've seen in a while.

I never use race tyres, I spend so much time trying to avoid them that I hate them.
Most of the time I'm using comfort soft now, it keeps the noobs out too.
