This thread might be out there already but i couldnt find it so does anyone think there will be more race mods in GT6 if any? Im pretty sure the official car list has the current race mods but will there be more?

I thought i might turn this into a poll aswell.

Yes. I think there will be more.

I think we will get more custom parts, but we won't get RM modifications such as in gt5, RM car are now in the car lits because they are separate models..

The Vette RM's from GT5 are now called 'LM' Race Cars, so I do wonder if there is Race Mods as the picture says, if the Vettes etc. will be in the dealership or still race modable?

I don't think that image necessarily = "new RM's!"

What Trustjab says about some of the old RM's being renamed is right, but maybe that's just in place of RM, not necessarily that all old RM's from GT5 will now be separate car purchases (like the TC cars in the Race Car DLC pack). It could still be the case that if you buy a modern Corvette and race modify it, it no longer turns into "(C6) RM," but "(C6) LM," for example.

Maybe you can race mod the same cars. Or possibly new cars while the ones from GT5 are purchaseable in the dealership. I hope its the latter.

Makes me wonder if past cars that we could RM (MX5, KPGC10 SKYLINE, S2000, etc.) will be converted. Nothing about roll cages. The 350Z RS has a half roll cage and that would be perfect to incorporate.

It can be easily done, just add aero parts to a car and create a texture with sticker with a nice paint job. Even though they might do this, it may not apply for the standard cars. I always wanted to see a Ferrari or Lamborghini with rm's.

One of the most defining features of GT 1 was the a ability to slowly upgrade your car until you reach the great race mod! This was especially effective if your own car was in the game. I don't was to drive Joey Hands race car... I want to beat him in my own car!

But even your race mod street car had limits and you started over with a higher class car... It made it easy to pretend you were graduating from track days to being a real racer... And no game has done half that since GT 1... Including all other GTs

What a fantastic progression and means to build a relationship with your car through competition.

Changing headlights and wings does not make a street car into a racer... And technically there aren't any roads in GT... Despite the branding excuse.

Man I hope the RMs are back. The Camaro & Challenger RM cars were fantastic & terrific to use online with your Mates in mini Trans Am style races. The most fun I had online with GT5 was with those cars.

And I dont know why the Mach 1 was left out. You could add balloon tyres by using the Torq Thrust wheels from GT Auto. So, it was almost an RM with the rear spoiler and front splitter. Just a bit heavy at its lightest 1300+kg compared to the Camaro and Challenger.

I think it would be better if we can self race modify cars, add the aero kit of a GT car in, and maybe have a simple livery option of putting "Gran Turismo" on the doors and hood, along with a number that we can place anywhere.

Summary: lots of tuning options, with maybe a "quick tune" (Race mod) setting

An even better option would have been a '69 or '70 Boss 302 with an RM option, then we'd have full on Trans Am races with 'the big 3'. PD should bring back AMC to the game too.
