Race Modifications - What do they do?

I have a 70' R/T Challenger that i have fully tuned as the cash became available. When I went to add the 'race modifications' to the car for $175K it told me that I would loose all my previous modifications to the car.

Can anyone tell me what performing a race mod on a stock car and a fully tuned car will do? Do you end up with the same car regardless? I don't want to spend a pile of cash on my Challenger if it will not make a difference to the existing tune.
 
It makes it a pretty fast car, M5 fast at least. But you do lost all your previous tunes after the RM, it's like they give you a brand new car, even the assist settings and brake bias are all reset to default.
 
So you can still perform further tunes to the car after race mods have been applied? If so, would it be better to buy another car from the dealer and then do the race mods instead of wasting all that money spent on the original tuned car?
 
yes you can tune it further after the race mod. Just stick with it I say, or else you end up with two cars with maybe similiar performance.

The best, what you get from RM, is the aerodynamics.

Changeable downforce at front and backwings gives the car much more grip.
