Good work Jack, hats off to you buddy, fine job from start to finish, and I know its not over yet, although it is for me. :(

Good luck to the rest of the ROC drivers.

Could be difficult with me and Tizzla. Everytime I managed to enter a race with him, he hosted and due to lag, it was never worth running from my perspective.

Hopefully things have changed.

I'll let everyone else do the research into what car is faster :D

Looking forward for that one! I like the fact that you can choose your car. Well done Jack 👍

Chris

Wouldnt do that. Depends on your driving style. 2 very different cars in the way they react, and youll be quicker in one than the other. Should think it will change for everyone.

ahah.. that's going to hurt  zocker consider yourself a death man... :trouble: :nervous:

good luck all

edit: about the car... a completly different challenge! to drive clean and be cool all the way: evo. otherwise, if you waann get more chances to find troubles and to make your heart go at 300rpm (stressful race) : Mines. im up for any.. zocker, you chose the car i'll be 1st on the grid. cool? :D

MAY - You choose your own car. You dont have to agree and race the same as your opponent. Its your own personal decision on what your feel more comfortable / quicker with.

oh really... i thougth it was the same for both :dunce:

hummm.. lets see .. its a hard choice! regular or adventurer.. wich one..

Evo or Mines... either way, D.Holland is going to eat me for breakfast :O.

So far for the suprises...

just gave the evo 3 laps and im almost hitting the limiter in 6th with the Evo, so if you'd were to slip stream someone, you wouldnt be able to pass cause your in the limiter.

Chris

I have tested the cars, and although you hit redline you dont hit the limiter when in slipstream.

And Jack, when is the warm up for Round 4 gonna start? Im anxious :D

Stick with the same times as found here.

Hopefully Mavrick will change the thread title, if not I will ask a mod.

Yea i remember you saying your connection wasn't good with me.

But i think youll find the problem was with other cars in the races i hosted, you wont see my car lagging so don't worry

EDIT: OK so i just had a test session with both cars. I was suprised by how how nice the skyline is to drive with this tune and both cars are pretty even and capable of 2,09s.

The skyline actually felt alot better through the corners, but the Evo could do low 9s easy where i had to really push the skyline to even get in the 9s.

This is a very little test i only did 3-4 laps in each car.

Awesome looking set-up though great work Jack 👍

Just an observation... why does the MINES have 1500kg? an ideia is to reduce the wheight to minimum... and the HP for better performance! Im saying this coz the EVO has a BIG wheight diference. Not sure the cars are in the same level in this particular track!

ps: MAY choose the Mines first Zocker

Have you even tested the cars before posting this? I guess not from the line:

Just an observation...

I havent just picked 2 cars out a hat and thought, "Yeah these will do. Add abit of power, might take off some weight, and stick em on S2's".

MAY choose the Mines...

i have raced tonight with Mine's against some friends with Evos and... the adavantage of Mine's was huge (although the friends could have done better i reckon)..

on my next try.. i'll pick the Evo and race against others with Mines and then i'll choose the right car 👍

once again great stuff jack.. you dont stop surprising me with your new ideas.. this makes the event even more exciting ;)

Like i said... an observation! your show lol

so far, haven't raced online yet with those too, but i would like to? anyone in for some online races at :07 and :37?

Fastest laptime done so far was with the mines. I was 4 tenth quicker then with the evo, but still need to decide.

Chris

i did my first test laps.

after 10 laps, Mines = 2.09,2xx
after 5 laps, Evo = 2.08,7xx

Nice times Rudi 👍

my times are 2-3 tenths slower than yours but the evo definately has better total lap performance.

However i found in a battle situation its alot harder to pass the skyline as its so much faster in a straight line...

Still not sure what im going to use

GTP_rpm vs. GTP_TIZZLA

I knew I'd be up against it today, as I'd only had about 10 laps practise in the Skyline.

We started the race, with a full grid, Tizzla on pole me 2nd. I didn't get away exactly on 20seconds, so Tizzla was ahead into T1 and led the lap. I held on, which I was surprised about and passed him down into 130R. I pitted first.

Tizzla had some problems with a newbie in a Merc, so I was able to go back past when he pitted on lap 2. I caught the same Merc, had some issues into the chicane with him, which allowed Tizzla to catch me. I got passed the Merc, as did Tizzla and he chased me down to turn 1 for lap 4.

He was all over me through the esses and then backed off and I knew he was waiting, so I calmed down too. We began lap 5, Tizzla got a good exit out of Casio and got in my slip beginning lap 6 I think. He pulled alongside into T1, I gave him room and then tried to keep up but there was no chance. He did an excellent lap, pulled out a gap to break the slip and it was very un-eventful from there on.

I managed to get into the 9's with my last 3 laps, finishing about 5 seconds behind Tizzla. Tizzla told me to say he did a 2'08.9xx in his Evo.

Congratulations to Tizzla, sorry I wasn't more competative. Not a great combo for me, very little running time and ran out of talent :D

Hopefully there is a shoot out for the 7 guys who are eliminated, to bring the next round up to 8 people, not 7!

Thank you Jack for managing to keep my interest in GT5P for longer than it should have done. Hopefully there will be another :)

Tho I'm not part of this excellent event I'd still like to congratulate Jack for his becoming moderator in our great GTP forum. Well deserved and a wise choice by the supermods to appoint him 👍 👍 👍

Hello, had an interesting race with PASM this evening, I went into the race with 0 practice laps, elected to go with the Lancer IX tuned (a reccomendation from PASM himself) We commenced the race and I was well off the pace, dropped down to 3.5-4 secs behind PASM pretty quickly, lap 3 or 4 I couldn't pass an unknown successfully (well I did, but then he would dive into the following corner like a maniac in an attempt to regain the position, shunting me in the sand on 2 occasions) so when i finally passed him I was 7 seconds behind, with only 4 laps to go, feeling as If the race was over, I still drove solidly, gaining just under half a tenth lap 7 or 8, but It wasn't enough and on the start of lap 8 or 9, decided to stop racing. I then voiced my concerns to PASM via the text chat facility, stating that I felt that my race was destroyed by the unknowner, and that If it were just us 2, the race result would be unclear, at the time of the run in with the unkowner, I was only 3.5 seconds off, I calculated that I could have made up 2.5-3 secs from then on to catch PASM's slip stream before the end If there was no incident with the unknowner, he kindly agreed with me and we agreed to race another one.

The next race was absolutely neck and neck for the first 8 laps, I pitted on lap 8 and had a solid out lap, I was around 3.5 secs off when PASM pitted at the end of lap 9, I leap frogged PASM in the pits and when he regoined the race, he was just outside slip stream distance, that same distance/margine remained for the last lap and I won by around 1/1.5 seconds, I very satisfying victory. I then texted PASM and proposed that we race another race, essentially returning the favour to PASM for allowing a race 2.

Race 3 I was very quick and hassling PASM like a bad smell, at the end of lap 3 I decided to TRY and pit lol, the attempt failed spectacularly as I went head first into the pit entry wall, It was an absolutely incredible mistake which left me 7.5 seconds off the pace when I rejoined the race, I persisted and the gap was slowly decreasing as PASM pitted lap 5 or 6, gap now was 3.5 seconds, a further 2 laps later the gap was 2.4 seconds, and on lap 8 i pushed to hard on the first corner and went into the sand, instantly, switched off the PS3, probably 0.8 second reaction time from the moment i realised I had entered the sand to the moment my finger made contact with the off button on the PS3 console, haha. So i guess the result is a victory to PASM, but I might have to talk to him again to see If he wants another race, because theoretically, we had 2 clean unaffected races, and after those 2 races, the result is 1-1, so it is an interesting descision, no one has really won the race in my opinion, maybe I went down 1.5-1. Anyways, what do you think?

PureGT_MAY vs Zocker16_GTRP

winner: me

both with Mine's

here's my words about our races:

our races.. because we made 2 races but zocker lost it on 130r and give up.. so we count the 1st race.

we started.. close racing until lap 3(i think).. when i made my pit.. on that lap zocker found a 599.. zocker caught the slipstream and passed the guy before 130r but the guy bumped him on the chicane.. so i let zocker take the lead again and he pitted.. and that was it.. then i was alone and ganning some gap each lap on him (maybe 8/9 seconds) until lap 8 where i made my ever best 2'08.1 and then i left my foot during the next 2 laps to cross the line safely...

after that we talked and we decide to re-run due that issue with the 599 and to see if i really deserved to pass on this round... close race again.. i made my pit... he made his pit on the next lap.. i came across him with some gap but lost it on turn1.. he toke the lead..i followed.. then i passed him and on 130r he lost it.. that was it.. i reduce my pace with a few seconds ahead.. i think some 350 bumped him and he decided to give up... so i stop too.. and he gave the victory.. there was no point to continue.. only if my wheel could turned on fire.. (that wasnt impossible.. my wheel already turned into smoke 2 times a long time ago  )

thanks for the good races zocker 👍

ps: can i dedicate a victory!? can i!? :dopey: i want to dedicate this one to timeattack who was the unluckiest on the previous round and a man who could be in my place at this moment.. my friend 👍
