Races that are too long

Does anyone have a list of endurance races/series of races that are so long the oil warning indicator comes on resulting in a permanent loss of hp? I wanna know so I can use throw-away cars or duplicates I have on those races.

All I know for sure are the F1 series in Pro League and the Tokyo R246 Endurance.

Couldn't PD have made it possible to not damage your car during these uber-long races?

That would have been nice. I can tell you: The GT All Stars, Japan Grand Touring C'ship (in Pro) and the Laguna Enduro (90 laps) are all VERY long.

Polyphony Digital Cup..but then they are just stock cars so unless its an unbuyable like the Speed 12 or the GTS-R concept no worries there.
Unless you are broke:D

I'm a cheapy ok. I did the Tokyo R246 Enduro with my F094/S.
Before I did this, my hp was 813.
After I did this (2½ hours) my hp was still 813.
(I did oil changes before and after)
Can someone tell me what the F094/S starts with horsepower-wise when you get it it? because I'm not experiencing any hp loss.

I have no idea. Maybe different cars experience different engine wear. Do you remember if the oil light ever came on? In my C5R, the oil light came on in the 184th mile of the race. I only know cuz I happened to be looking at the tachometer when it happened. Racing over a 100 miles with the light on was prolly not a good idea, but I couldn't help it. Losing 21 hp isn't that much I guess, but I still feel like I was robbed!:( :p

They don't permanently knock down your hp, but what happens is your car gets run in and then it will suffer a slight hp loss (less than 5%) after 800 km.

I think the hp for my F094/S has always been the same. As I remember it, I just won it from the Polyphony Digital Cup, changed the oil, and it was 813... or 824. I can't remember. I am about 65% sure it was 813 though.

My Castrol Tom's Supra has about 100 more miles on it than my C5R, and the Supra hasn't lost any hp ever. My C5R had just under 200 miles on it before the Enduro, and now it's over 500 (driving it about 150 miles with the oil light on). Do cars 'run in' at different times or is oil really a factor in permanent hp loss? Perhaps there's an hp loss percentage cap in the game that disallows cars to lose more than a certain amount of hp whether from oil change neglect or high mileage (kilometerage? ) issues.

PS: I was going to translate all those mileages into km but I'm a lazy American. I think you get the message I was conveying anyway.

If you do an oil change then race, the oil light should come on at about 300km, or about 180miles. This is only rough but I pretty sure I've read it on here somewhere. So do an oil change before any race, no matter what!

I did an oil change right before the enduro. And you're right, the oil light came on at 184 miles, but the enduro is over 300 miles! What can I do? Nothing :(

Has anyone ever tested the high mileage/oil change theory? Maybe I'll get two of the same car with the same initial hp, and run one with regular oil changes, and the other without change the oil except for the first time to get the small boost in hp to match the other car's hp too. I'll run both to very high mileage, say 2000 should do it right? Damn, that'll take a long time. But I'll get the answer to this damn question. If I have time and encouragement maybe.

Hi creatureofnight:
:D We're all a little dismayed about the "Oil Change" issue, but you're not really "Damaging" the engine. I believe the lowest horsepower it will revert to is what it had "Pre-Break-In" (if you bought it / cars that are WON come "Broken-In") & "Pre Oil Change."
Constantly buying or winning new cars you already have to keep them @ Max HP is a hassle we've all gone thru. However as I've recently discovered it's no longer necessary if you have a "Shark Port" (the BEST $25.00 I've spent since buying GT3) a PC & MK's software. Not only does it turn your computer into a huge "Memory Card", you can keep ALL your cars @ Max HP FOREVER FOR FREE. Hope this helps...UB57
:D

this has happened in both my poly 001's when won they start with 789hp, with an oil change i soon have 829hp(40hp boost), after an enduro or a long series where the oil light appears i change oil and it is now on 813hp(16hp lost):(

On the Tokyo Endurance Race...I used my Escudo...riding against the wall...and it dropped like 30HP and I just bought another one after and threw the old one out...

I believe that our fellow member madeinholland has already done a similar test and concluded that the oil light will come on after running 189.x miles since your last oil change.

I meant more along the lines of a test to see if 'run in' is truly real, and if NEVER changing oil at all can result in a severe hp loss, lower than pre-broken max hp.
