nice info picklesam , i was hoping someone would come out with some Playseats info. I may email them see what is up.

I've been in contact with the people at Playseats and this is what they said;

"Unfortunately we do not have a distributor in your country and/or region yet. Since shipping out of the Netherlands is extremely expensive (you must count with Euro 250,-- - 300,00 per seat!!), we are working on serving our web shop via a logistic service in your part of the world. As soon as we have succeeded, we will announce this on our website. "

With the $A where it is, that puts the Playseat Evolution at about the same pricepoint as the CyberKart and a bit less than the Gamers Cockpit (including the optional G25 shifter addition) but it's just too rich for what it is and I know it could be reproduced at around the same quality for a lot less.

Time for me to start looking around for a nice cheap racing seat, brushing up on my welding, renting a pipe bender and building something myself methinks.

phenomenal work PerryMason , i emailed them but did not get a reply i guess they were ultra busy being Christmas time. With your info im going to figure an alternative to Playseats , i havent even pulled the Logitech G25 out of the box yet!

excellent info man thanx again

Sorry to jump in on this but does anyone know where I can get hold of plans for a Racebase, the company doesn't seem to be around any longer.
Cheers,
Dave

Not sure where you can get the 'exact' specifics, but I'd suggest checking out this link to the RSCNET Forums for some great information on how to build your own!

Hopefully this works out better for you??

I have already built a sim but the racebase setup looks more adjustable for the kids and better for storage.
Here is my sim

Hey all,

I've received an update from Ina from Playseats.com indicating that work is underway to find a partner in the region;

"I will start with activities to find a good partner next week. So we ourselves hope we can manage this within the first quarter of 2008."

Also, I've spoken with Chris from Obutto who is also looking for a way to ship here at a reasonable cost.

Personally I can't wait so I'm breaking out the TIG gear this weekend! :)
