Racing same series again

On GT4 if you wanted to race the same series again the game would ask you if you wanted to blank out your trophies and then you would race it again, and then be awarded the prize car again.

Can this be done in GT5?

I have tried but no success now, anyone has any idea on how to do it?
 
Nope, once you gold an event, you are finished. Yes you can race again for cash & XP points. Which you will have to do.

Don't sell your prize cars, you'll need some!
 
I have won two FT-86's after I bought one :(
