Hello guys

I spent friday night playing GT6 in party mode with my cousins and it a few things caught my eye.. for one.. the cars behave very differently! Now we were all using wheels too. Racing Softs were incredibly slippery! Something wrong here?

HEEEELP!

HEEEELP!
Party mode as in...playing two player arcade mode?

wet track? :P

Which car were you using?

If it was a MiTo, you have a problem, talking about your driving skill and your intelligence.

Not intending to insult you but it sounds like you're looking for a more arcade-style game than GT.

Umm.. No.

wet track? :p

Nope :D

:grumpy: It was a R34 Skyline, that too at 923bhp with over 50kgfm. Just tell me one thing, Why do racing hards stick more than softs? and are they degraded from GT5?

Cheers guys.

Umm.. No.

Nope :D

Er... they don't.

An overpowered car can't do technical tracks, maybe that's how it was slidey, sort of like how the Lotus 97T handles like with RS tires. Softer tires in general grip more but wear out quickly, so unless you have set up the race conditions to have quick tire wear, those tires give up very easily and makes driving a mess.

Maybe you're missing something in your memory to recall why.

They just don't.

RS's aren't as grippy as they were in GT5 but they're still the grippiest tyre in GT6.

And you ask why the tyres were slippery.

97T has zero issue on technical tracks lol. That's what the car begs for.

Woah whah guys.. hold up.. I only have this issue with Racing Softs in two player mode. They are fine during single player! The same car which I use in single player is perfectly fine with racing softs but in two player mode the very same car slides around like anything.. just wanted to clarify.

Racing softs are the grippiest tyres but also the most sensitive. The line between endless grip and absolutely none what so ever is very thin. Just like the real thing.

In GT6 they dont work anymore on street cars and thats how it should be. For these kind of tyres you need downforce, and heaps of it. Furthermore the tyre temperature needs to be just right, in a street car this temperature is not even possible to achieve, again no downforce no racing suspension setup etc.

Racing tyres arent ment for street cars but only for hardcore racing cars, and you can feel it in the game, thats what you're experiencing.

Sounds like a bug to me.

Probably what happened to you is that Racing Softs tend to have more grip than racing hards but when the car spins and runs out of grip, it does it more violently compared to the racing hards, that are probably more predictable.
