Racing Time Attack and Beyond!

As some of you know on here, I’ve been competing for the last 5 or so years in time attack and I figured I’d finally make thread to update everyone on my racing! I started out in sim racing, which is why I originally became a member of this website years ago, and I can say for certain that it definitely gave me a leg up on the competition when I ended up getting into a real car on track when I was 17 which surprisingly for a lot is rather old for getting into competitive motorsport.
I currently compete in Gridlife Track Battle which is one of the most competitive time attack series in the world, as well as select Global Time Attack events.

I started out racing a B7 Audi S4 and I’ve been running the same car in ever since I started racing in time attack although it has gone through many updates over the years. I have raced with numerous other cars over the years but this has always been my main competition car. For the first time this season, I’ll be running a different full time that promises to be very competitive, an AMG GTS! It will be running in a class Streetmod which is a production based class with regulations intended to keep the cars road relevant and street legal.

My first event with this car will be at Super Lap Battle in February at Circuit of the Americas. I can’t wait to see what I can do with this platform and I can’t wait to share my full season with GTP! I may even have a few wheel to wheel races in Gridlife GLTC this season with a different car!

Yeah Jackie’s the best! Shooting rolling shots with him and the rest of the team on track tomorrow morning. I’m planning on getting a YouTube channel going but I post all of my stuff on Instagram so you can follow along with everything there! It’s @kalfortner

Bryan Heitkotter is out there this weekend racing in GLTC for Forsberg racing.

Yeah GLTC’s becoming a really great series. The level of competition is incredibly high. Actually looking into getting into that at a few events this year too. Still finalizing some of the details on that though.

Edit: totally double posted too, but the practice sessions went really great today! The first competition sessions are tomorrow. Really happy with how balanced the aero feels on the car.

Sitting 10th in class and 23rd overall after day one with a 2:24.089. So close to a 2:23 but the track temp was a little too high in the last session today so the goal is to get it in the morning! Really happy with how everything’s going though given that it’s my first event with this car and we’re still waiting on some parts for it.

Ended the weekend with a 2:23.48 putting us top 10 in a stacked Limited class. Completely exceeded my expectations for the weekend and I couldn’t be more excited for what this season has in store after some more development with the car.
