Hey everyone! I'm pretty new here but so far I'm LOVING this forum! Lots of dedicated GT fans here, which is always nice to see.

So anyhow, I had a question about purchasing a racing wheel. I was going to get a Logitech DFGT wheel for Christmas (I heard from a lot of people that it's the best wheel for it's price), but came to the conclusion that I would like to see if there is a wheel that is compatible with both PS3 and XBox 360. I'm a big Forza fan as well so if I DO get a wheel, I would love for it to work on both.

So my question is: Does anyone have any suggestions for a racing wheel that's compatible with PS3 and 360 for around the same quality and price as the DFGT?

Thanks, I appreciate it...

I think only the (way more expensive) Fanatec wheels (some of them) are cross-platform.
Pretty much sucks. The DFGT is an USB wheel. Why it won't work on an xbox360 is completely beyond me...

The only wheel I can think of as being multiplatform for PS3 and XBox360 is the Fanatec Porsche Turbo S and it is very limited and very hard to find. Very Hard. And expensive.

Yeesh...ok. Yeah, I looked up the Fanatec wheel online and wasn't too comforted by the prices....as far as the DFGT wheel being usb, I don't why it wouldn't be cross platform...it's not like it's a Sony exclusive wheel or anything. Oh well. Thanks for the help!

I am not a very technical guy, but from what I know the Xbox and PS3 use different systems for incorporating wheels. But yes, the prices on the top of the line fanatecs are pretty shocking. Beautiful wheels though.

Yeah, I had a feeling it came down to the software/driver associated with each wheel. Thanks!

The Fanatec wheels are pretty pricey, but you'll see where your money went.

I've had a Porsche Turbo S wheel (Xbox 360, PS3 and PC compatible) for almost a year now and it's fantastic.

I got the Clubsport package they were selling at the end of 2009, it has the Clubsport pedals and the two different shifters. Later I also got the RennSport Wheel Stand and it became even better.

I've owned other wheels before, and none come close to the Fanatec, it's head and shoulders above the rest. They also release firmware upgrades from time to time that allow for more settings.

And I'll stop now because it's beginning to sound like a commercial. :p

not to derail this thread or anything, but I never understood why the logitech g25/g27 wasn't xbox compatible. Not only does it work for the PS3, but it also works with the PC. So if it works for one microsoft platform, why not another?

Your guess is as good as mine...

It's all good...lol. They've been kinda hard to find as well, though. I've found some used ones on Ebay...but if I'm going to be dropping that kind of cash, then I need to get it from somewhere I can trust....
