Hello, first off I'd like to apologize since this thread most likely is posted in the wrong section of this forum. If it is so, please do not trash my post but replace it.

Thanks!

Now, I got GT5 for xmas and as I started up my PS3, connected my Thrustmaster wheel (ferrari-looks) and got ready to play. However it seems this wheel is not cut out for this game.

So my question is; the wheels that are under the ''steering controllers'' in options, are they the only wheels you can use for GT5? I'd rather not buy a new wheel and I'd very much like to play, using my wheel I've got now.

Thanks!

Does it have the stand with an f1 related nose to it? Be aide my brother tried it with his GT5 and we returned it because it didn't work

No, there are other wheels too that work very well, but are just not officially supported, so you may not be able to map the buttons etc. Fanatec wheels for example work very well.

Thank you, but where do I set the buttons? And the wheel is supposed to go in the USB port on the front right?

Thanks

That's the issue with unsupported wheels. Even though they might work with the game, setting the buttons might not be possible or you'll have to search per wheel in that menu if one of them makes any changes to your buttons.

Yes, the wheel should go in the front USB. If you use a USB hub it can sometimes interfere with the proper function of a wheel though.

Thank you, I will give it a try. I really don't want to by another wheel just for this game :(
