Yes yes and yes. Buy a decent wheel and you won't regret it.

I am fairly new to gt5 and was just wondering if you guys think racing wheels are worth the hefty price.

If you can find the money to buy them, then they are worth 100% what you paid for them. To be honest, it gives you an advantage over people who use a controller because you have smoother inputs for steering, braking and accelerating and you have force feedback and you can "feel" the road surface you are driving on. If you want the most realistic driving experience then a wheel would be better too.

Definitely worth it. I have a T500 RS and it's awesome. You need to remember it takes a while to get used to it!

Especially if you're using such a powerful wheel such as the T500. Man, that thing can literally break your wrist if you're not careful. Don't believe me? Watch this video of the G25 calibrating which is then compared to the Thrustmaster. Go to 1:40 for the side by side test:

To me it looks like it's at least 2 times faster than the G25. The T500 was able to do a full lock to lock turn in the time it took for the G25 to turn all the way to the left.

Yeah it's pretty powerful. I had to have the force feedback at like 2/3 when I was starting out. Mines calibrates slightly differently to that: lock to lock slow, lock to lock and destroy your wrists speed! Overall I love it but I hated when I first got it. December 2011!

The video I posted here wasn't an actual calibration, it was a steering test that's available on the driver software that comes with the wheel.

Don't have that!

Well I assumed it came with the wheel. I think you actually have to install it from the Thrustmaster site.

Must be then.........

If the price of a wheel seems "hefty" to you then my advice is not to get one. A wheel only has one purpose...to play racing games, so spend your hard earned cash on something else.

Racing wheels are worth the price if you are dedicating a lot of time to racing. If you're just a casual player then the DS3 controller is just fine. But if you find yourself wanting more out of the racing experience then you will definitely want a wheel.

Def get a wheel.. although that's just the starter, you will soon want a dedicated seat and stand to get the most from a wheel

I can not play without a Racing wheel. i tried with a DS3 controller no luck :guilty:
Should I learn drive with a DS3 controller? perhaps is easier for drift

if my Racing wheel stops working then I will stop playing GT 5 until I have the enought money to buy a new one
