GT5 is pretty cool what concerns realism, it's not quite GTR2 or R factor, but still awesome to drive.

The rear wheel driven cars drift pretty good when executed correctely.

BUT : when you pull handbrake on a front wheel driven car, and keep the pedal down, the result is not really .. realistic..

also, drifting a 4wd rally car on tarmac, is a little dodgy..

anybody got good tips, different opinions or a cool movie to prove me wrong ..? 👍

With the 4wd, you could use gripier tyres up front (e.g. softs) and change the power ratio thingy, 10:90. But theyre still not as good as rwd in my opinion.

Try this tune on the '08 WRX rally car on any tarmac course, (thanks again to Jackthalad, excellent tune). I've driven a rally prepped WRX at a local rally school, this is as close to the real car that I've tried.

When coming up to a turn, remember the following. Lift, turn, brake. What happens next is how the real car reacts to such inputs. Mix up the sequence and the car will also react just as it's real life counterpart.

Downforce
15/25

Transmission
Leave stock (155mph)

LSD
Front - 7/10/10
Rear - 20/55/19

Centre Differential
25/75

Suspension
Ride Height
-50/-50
Spring Rate
12.0/10.2
Extension
7/8
Compression
5/7
Anti-Roll Bars
2/7

Camber Angle
2.8/0.6
Toe Angle
-0.18/0.13

Brake Balance
0/3
You must turn ABS off in order to brake oversteer.

The key is in the brake balance. Want to see what happens when you brake mid corner in a FF car? Start with brake balance of 0/3 with ABS off and then fine tune from there.
