Hi there! I just wanted to know if there was a"secret" to driving the Rally Cars! I mean, everytime I try to turn or move the steering wheel to the better line, the cars drastically slow down!! Is this just the nature of the beast? I am sure that the setup of the car has something to do with it, but it happens to me even in the Sebatian Loeb challenge. So I just wanted to know what the trick may be.

Thanks!!

Yes, turn off ASM, TCS, and Active Steering. Be sure your transmission ratio is correct... you usually will not go much faster than 140 on most rally tracks. Usually wheel spin can cause issues on tarmac, but if you use electronic aids on dirt/snow, you'll just slow yourself down. Make sure your car isn't too low or the suspension is too tight. Most cars cannot be dropped down on bumpy tracks and run fast times. If you have the torque sensor(4WD), most times 30-70 or 35-65 mix will work, but it depends on your preference. Also, aside from high-speed and tight hairpins, resist the urge to drift needlessly. All you'll do is lose speed and forward bite for the next straight.

Great tips!! Thanks you guys!!! It's much appreciated! 👍

Those aiding devices are a great help to beginners unaccustomed to driving on a different condition, but they can hamper the rotating speed of the car when it turns into a corner. So you're advised not to use(or reduce the power) once you become used to rallying on a dirt track.

I am a level 35. I have tried Rally Racing on a few occasions, and this weekend was the first time I seriously sat down and raced for a few hours on a Rally track. Obviously, I havent passed the Sebatian Loeb Challenge, either. Making turns in a Rally Car is tougher than I am accustomed to.

Try this: Pug 206 S16 '99. A biased view, I know, but it's a good place to start rallying in GT5. Be sure to read the blurb, follow the Source link too, it'll give you some more helpful hints on how to get a car working well on gravel and snow. This car works pretty well on bumpy tarmac tracks too...

As said before turn all the aids (other than abs) off. my personal tips are once you get your turn in speed right get the wheels pointing straight as quick as possible and dont over rev the car (in other words short shift) out of turns. I got gold 1st time using these methods on the seb loeb challenge.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Thanks SO MUCH for the tips!! It made such a big difference! Thanks again!
