Rally in GT4

I have such a big problem with rallying in GT4! I really have problems with turns (on dirt and snow) because I always hit the barriers! Can someone suggest some kind of advice on rally driving!? Also on what car I should use?

Just for your information, I'm trying to win the Yosemite I to receive the Suzuki Escudo Dirt Trial Car.
 
Slow down. at least, that works for me on dirt. I'm still trying to master it. I know little about snow though.
