Hi,
I finished the tarmac and snow series, but can't seem to beat the gravel one....I'm using a Citroën C4 WRC and while on tracks with mostly straights i lead by 1 sec or so, on tracks with many turns, I'm behind by 17 secs....

I'm using a g25 wheel and it's really tiring having to fight with the wheel constantly on turns. It's even more annoying that every time it's randomly generated map with no driving line so it's really hard to judge when to brake and turn...Any suggestions on tune settings?

I have completed these twice. I used the Lancia DELTA S4 Rally Car '85 (487BHP), and with the Citroen C4 WRC '09 (Which by the way Sandy ... you can get to 438 BHP.

I found it easier in the citroen, as it's a far better handling car with almost the same power. Make sure you ALWAYS have racing softs on, and set your gearing for every run according to the longest straight (tells you before you enter). Other than that its easy, i beat them by around 3 minutes after the 8 runs....

I'm talking about the gravel one with dirt tires. What setting did u have on your citroen?

Best hint: Traction control OFF!!!! Otherwise you loose speed in the corners...
Helped my a lot!

What he says. Traction control might help keep you on the course, but it kills your time. Basically it bogs you down trying not to spin the tires...in rally racing that is bad!

Did this in the Delta S4 (as with the tarmac and the snow events). Use it stock, make sure all the assists are off and it's easy.

I used a Delta S4 with an oil change. Also changed the gear ratios to give a little higher top speed & turned all the aids off except ABS which was on 2. Won by a mile, even getting 1 or 2 barrier impact penalties in each race.

high rpm turbo in Citroen C4 Rally car
no traction control
skid recovery on
maximum steering aid
gearing to 140 mph

you should be able to win by a large margin

I'm using the Citroen WRC car, has mix 400 BHP and I have TCS off ABS +1 and I haven't had any problems. I'm using the default tune as well.

For the gravel race it's important to set the LSD to a 50/50 front/rear balance (I think its 30/70 default). It lets you drift around corners and generally go much faster. I used the Citreon and it was easily up to the task. I've got a Driving Force GT wheel which lets you bring up those LSD settings while you're driving, but I imagine you could program that into a button on any wheel.

With the Citroen WRC car, all I did was an oil change, dirt tires, and turned TCS off. SRF can be a bonus, but I found it to be overkill. I wouldn't mess with any of the settings except Brake Balance (4/1 or 5/2) since the car handles really well stock. Ignore the driving line and don't brake for slight turns as the oversteer in the dirt will keep you going faster than if you slowed down first. Most courses you can do without braking at all, something that the AI fails to understand.

Thanks for the tips guys. I changed the front/rear torque to 50/50 and changed the assists around (TCS off, SRF on, Active Steering set to strong, ASM off, ABS 1) and blitzed gravel, snow and Tarmac and won a 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2 '86 for my trouble.

Try dropping that C4 down to about -30/-35, turn off all AIDS, and turn ABS to 2. Handles like a dream at Eiger Nordwand K-Trail and easy on the wheel. Here is a video I made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhmziVA24pk

Just want to thank all the posters in this thread. Went from losing the Advanced gravel stage by +30 secs to winning by about 40 :)

My setup:
Car used: Citroën C4 WRC
Additions: Stage 3 Engine tune
TSD: 50/50
Assists: TCS0, SRF On, ABS 2

Moondance

Thanks to all who posted about this, I did the 4WD 50-50 setting and that made a HUGE difference, suddenly the car drives like a rally car.. Improved time by nearly 20s, beat gold by just under 10s. Nice one!

I've got the snow and gravel courses beat but can't seem to win the Tarmac. I'm using the Subaru impreza wrc 2008. Any suggestions on how I can beat this. It's reall tough but all the rest I killed. Somebody please help me!!
