Hi guys sorry didn't know where to ask this question. Any way my cousin is so silly he is convinced that a mobile phone that isnt connected to WiFi can cause his PS4 to lag. Is this right or wrong?

He's right if the phone is causing EMF and he's using an online service via wi-fi. The same is true of any electrical device.

It's also conceivable, dependent upon router type, that devices are polling the router without getting a connection. That could cause a slow-down but it would have to be a pretty old router.

As @Imari says this question should go in Computers and Tech, if you use the Report function on your OP and ask a mod they should move it for you

The easy way to test would be to pull the battery on the phone for a few hours and see if the lag stops. It's not conclusive, but it would be a fairly strong indication.

Thank you for the input the router is not that old. Have had it about 3 years i have 3 PS4's here and his one is the only one lags which i fond quite strange

Isn't connected to wifi? How would it have anything to do with your network?
