Ok, this is more of a stress relief for me then anything. I also feel anyone that needs to relief themselves from the stress in life needs to write something in this thread

Rant #1 (Miata's stress issue) - Ok I must say everyone is going to work a stressful job once in their lives. Working Tech Support for the past five years can truly get stressful working with end-users. I mean blind troubleshoot, people who can't freaking click on anything in the computer, People thinking their Modeum Is the computer itself and refer to it at that, The pibcak errors otherwise known as ID10Ts, Pissed off people because they messed up their computer, People needing someone to talk too, Men and Women who needed to be filtered out by Natural Selection, etc. This is what I deal with on a regular basis. Now I am a fairly patient -> Bearing or enduring pain, difficulty, provocation, or annoyance with calmness.- > person, but somedays you want to tear into someone because their USB connection is not recognizing their (fill in device here) and they think you are the root of all evil because their device is not working. Some people should need a licenese to use these devices. . . ARGH

Rant #2 (Miata's Family) - Now I have not lived anyway near any family for about 8 years now, since I was 17. Now the closest member I have is 1500 miles away. So when I talk to anyone in my family it is one of the most important things to me. . . then there is my father (think worrying jewish father kinda like Woody Allen). He pissed me off today so much, I called him up because I haven't talked to him in about a week and I wanted to see what was going on. Like normal, he starts telling me how to conduct myself and live my life. This is normal for him but I have 15 minutes to be in work and I actually wanted to talk to him and tell him things. Nope, for 10 solid minutes he just lectured and lectured what was best for me. Now let alone about 95% of the time I listen to him and take advise but this time he is advising me on a decision moreover anything with hoiw I live my life. A decision is nothing someone can talk you into, you either make it or not. . . So I am pissed and moddy today because of this phone call and it is affecting everything I do :(

Yep, I feel your pain. I've been through both things, and actually fairly recently (like in the last week).

On the Computers issue
Remember that to most people, a computer is white goods. They don't know how it works, and they don't want to know how it works. They wilfully fail to see how a little understanding could help them on an everyday basis. But - hey - that's what keeps a roof over your head, so you should just keep it that way. And remember, just because they don't know computers doesn't make them thick.

On the Families issue
Not a lot I can say there, except that there will most likely be a defining moment in your relationship with your father, where he will stop being your dad, and start being your mate. Don't force it, it will come, and some time fairly soon I would wager. But you have to quietly let your family know that they have to respect your decisions. And the best way to do that is to make considered decisions, and then stick to them.

Good luck!

I agree 100% on the computer situation. I know it does it is a fact that lately I need an outlet of the stress levels I make occur. My motto stands as I only speak to a client once. I fix every issue and never have to worry about a callback. Well doing this it is extremely stressful to fix everything under the sun

The family issue, I totally see that happening and it has occurred once already with my father, but I don't know what snapped him back into the critical worrying father again. I have a baby sister 18 years younger then me now that he has to worry about. . . just frustration . . . I'll get over it

Thanks for your input Giles

more unnecessary rambling -

Ok here is another thing in life that I find funny. . . No matter how old you are people can sometimes bring out the child in you. Ever hear an 80 year just laugh like crazy? I have on numerous occasions and let me tell you makes me feel so good to connect with a well respected individual in society that has seen a lot through his or her eyes. Talk about a way to turn a day from total disaster into positive energy. . . It is not the age of your skin it is the age of your heart that matters.

more to come. . .

now that you mention it, i need to find some rejuvination, im feeling way to old.

Ok so today everyone I seem to talk to is not truly looking for help instead they are turning to me to be a Skrink. . . I have dealt with more people today that are lonely and need someone to talk to because they are either too lazy to go find someone to meet, too cold to venture outside of the house, or plain and simply a social outcast. . .

I am not a shrink for these people, I do not bear a world on my shoulders for them and yet they expect me to magically wave a wand and fix everything. . . If I could I would be a fixup god. . .

Try having my job i referee ice hockey and the coaches nagging like THAT WAS OFFSIDES just makes me want to kill them for doubting my authority because i can kick anybody out of any ice rink! and the parents just assume because im younger than the other ref. im a beginer even though i've had this job for 3 years. and they r like exuse me young man (right in the middle of play) i believe that was off sides and im like well i believe that was outta line! but the coaches really get to me this is youth hockey by the way like 5-12 year olds and the coach is on the bench yelling and cussing up a storm and i skate over and say either u take it down a notch or i will take you down but that never works and when the game is over and everybody is shaking hands like good job and whooohoo we won and the coach'll skate by me and act like i'm not there. i mean im taking time out of my weekend to ref for them. because if it werent for me there wouldnt be a game. so..... ya i kno how it is to be stressed out not to meansion school. but ya i just needed to get that out.

Today it is freaking people that can't hold a freaking camera or anything and expect for their pictures to come out like a $2000 camera would give them when they pay $100 for theirs and compoare it to more advanced cameras and yelling at me for them not being the same. . . Freaking peons. . .

Ahh, dealing with the public surely is a pain in the arse. I work in a supermarket Monday, Tuesday, Friday on the checkout and Sunday I stack the shelves in Grocery.

Now I know it isn't the greatest job in the world but it's the only decent job that someone of my age can get. Thats no reason to treat me like a bag of **** when you come to ask me where a product is when you could've found it yourself. At the end every aisle are signs that mark out the 4 most popular products in that aisle (and give you an idea where a similar type of product is), along the aisle itself are little signs that you can glance at to find a more specific product, USE THEM. I can understand if you found the area and there was no product or you've been looking at the wrong place but if not then it gives you no reason to walk up to me and expect me to help you just because you're too lazy to look for yourself.

Checkouts isn't any better. Customers are always ****ty and when they **** you around they get even ****tier which in turn makes the people behind them ****ty. We know how to do our jobs, so if you have a request that only we can help you with then by all means ask us and we'll do our best to help, if we can't help then tough **** no body else can help you.

I hate being young and looked down on.

just want to vent
Last october was my high school graduation ceremony and my parents asked me what I wanted - all I wanted was an mp3 player but it was expensive as bloody hell. So I told them make it count for my eid and birthday present as well. I was happy with it till last friday when I got mugged for it in front of my own damn home. Worst part was that I had invested $100 into a decent pair of headphones that very same week...

That thing was my portable hard drive for my data, and it was usually the only thing that kept me sane while studying. After a while, they become a part of you and you just don't feel right going anywhere without them. Now, some ****wit out there somewhere has access to some of my personal documents, my music, and has my school assignments (luckily those were backups of the originals). And to top that, he also has the only 2 things of mine that I could truly call my own. Everything else, I had to share with my brother and sister.

Either way, I'm happy he didn't hurt me, I'm happy he didn't steal my laptop (because that had ALL my school stuff on it)...but this is the first time in my life that someone managed to outrun me when I chased after him . Granted, I had a 20 pound backpack, my body was numb, and my knee decided to start acting up but damnit, I nearly managed to catch him if it wasn't for my knee stressing under the load. Now, I'll never see my iPod again, my headphones are gone and now, I gotta start from scratch. My only real property - gone :banghead:. My laptop doesn't count since it's being leased from my school (they won't allow me to buy and it's a program requirement).

@cobra - I feel for ya man, people disrespect me because I look like I'm still a high school kid because of my height. Makes it harder for me to get a job despite my qualifications.
