Lenticular clouds are pretty dangerous for airplanes. But since Keef is Mr. Pilotwings he can better explain why.

I suspect it's because Lenticular clouds are formed with high pressure moving over a tall object, they often form as hats for mountains. I'd say you'd get a ton of turbulence flying through or near one, maybe enough to crash.
