Hi guys, I've got a teeny problem. Y'see, I have a 1:18 (I think- I'll have to check again, but I know it's kind of big) BMW M3 GT-R, and it needs fixing. I was drifting it on the street when some old ladie let go of her toddler who chased after my car. Needless to say I tried to get the hell out of there was the car had too little traction to make an effective runaway. It resulted in my sliding the car into the side of the curb, creating mild body damage and snapping the right rear suspension setup. The wheels still drive, but the wheel is limp, as nothing is supporting it. I have some small front bumper damage (the plastic+wireframe chasis acting as a bumper broke off) and quarter panel damage. Does anyone here know where I might be able to get the axel/suspension fixed, or anything I could do on my own to fix it? I'll provide pictures in a little while.

Note: The car can reach speeds of up to 60km/h and the tires don't have the traction for that, which is why I used it for a drifter/baby-dodger.

Well, where I live there is an RC store about 10 miles away. I walked in one day to find some paints for my plastic car models and I noticed that two men behind the counter were working on an RC car. Get a phone book and look it up, I'm sure you should be able to find a model/RC shop that can repair it. Otherwise, I don't know that much about R/C cars to help.

good luck PS there are no hobby stores in guelph. north end hobbies and crafts went bankrupt. for fixing to body go to canadian tire and buy some bondoand 220 grit sand paper, pretty cheap.

Bring it to Radioshack, they fix anything electronic even Rc cars! Hmm I should get em to fix the broen frotn suspension on my RC car too.

I don't know about the warranty. I'm sure you'll have to pay a fee no matter where you go. If it's really messed up and they can't help you then you will have to buy a new one, or fix it yourself.

OK well if it snapped the suspension setup, im assuming you mean the spring, then you need to buy replacement parts. Or take it somewhere where they will replace them for you. If the column that is inside the spring is what snapped, then i dont really think there is much hope for actually repairing it.

You're probably going to have to remove that column and buy a new one. Hopefully its not tamiya or something foriegn because usually they want you to buy a group of parts to just get the one you need.

You might also check the drive axl the connects directly to the wheel. Chances are if the suspension broke, then that isnt perfectly straight anymore.

I gave up on RC cars a while ago. They are fun but there is no where local for me to use them much.

Well the suspension, not like a regular life-sized vehicle, is based around a pin and a spring for which it absorbs shock. It's the pin that it's anchored into that snapped, so now one wheel is just hanging there.

Sorry, but I'm in Canada and most of that is far too small for my car. Mine is about 14 inches long, maybe an 11.5 inch wheelbase. I'll post a pic when I can!

Well where did you get yours then?

Who made the model? Certainly Tamiya ought to do spare parts. Not so sure about the lesser known companies.

14" sounds like 1/12 scale or thereabouts.

This is the car, but it's not the place I got it from. My car is exactly the same, but i got it from Radio Shack. So, I'm guessing that I should call Radio Shack or this site?
