anybody else got rc helicopters? RC cars seems to be popular so there must be some members here who fly rc helis.

My main interest (hobby) is rc cars but i just ventured into rc helis not too long ago. So far, im a complete noob.

I havent really learned how to hover in the same spot it yet. But im able to fly it around without crashing :ill:

Here is my Century Hummingbird Pro Elite FP heli

You have a real nice colection there, I want to get an RC airplane but i dont want to spend a crapload of money but i dont want a crappy one that will fall apart.. Like a walmart plane

dont have an rc helicopter but i have a hovercraft if that counts

and turbo have you thought about getting an air hog? ,i have 3 and they are great :)

thats actually a pretty sweet looking micro heli. Is it new from Century? I started helis with a Century Hawk Pro .30, a larger nitro model, but if that one is anything like the others in their lineup, then you should be holding solid hovers in no time!
Also, is that a nitro Rs4 in the pic?

Oh yeah, hovering (nose in or nose out) is harder than flying around, and stopping from forward flight always seemed to be hardest for me. However, stopping from backward flight wasnt so bad, weird, huh?

Here is the trick about learning to hover, you need to be about 5 or 6 feet up. That is high enough to get out of your propwash (off the "bubble"), which will allow you to concentrate on control inputs with no interference. The bad thing is, if you lose control, you are high enough to cause some damage....but, that is rc helis. practice, practice, practice...........

We just got them at work, so I bought one.

There were two different models, and they are both really cheap in a bad way. One is a full size model, retails for $50. I got one that retails for $30, my cost should be about $20. We got five choppers in, and they sold out within a hour. :D

We've been flying them at work, but the controls are very limited(pretty much just up/down, left/right, no forward/back), and we have no idea of what we are doing. Many epic crashes!

Mine's identical to this one, except it's got orange stripes. About six inches long, and it's made out of styrofoam. I already busted the original tail rotor blade.

I found the bigger model, too:

I've got one of that. It should have come with 3 aluminum square stickers that you need to attach to the front underside of the chopper to enable it to move forward. It's worked for me, awesome and virtually 'indestructible'.
