RE Challenge

I'd like to toss around the idea of a Rotary Engined Challenge. A championship style series with 5 races at real tracks. I'm thinking Classing should be similar to that of Super GT, GT300 for cars upto 300hp, and a GT500 for cars with 500hp and up. Though it might be more competitve to base the classes on PWR. And a seperate class for actual Race Cars.
I was thinking for circuits we could use, Laguna Seca(of course), Suzuka (full or short), Nurburgring, Tsukuba, Infineon(maybe?, not to fond of it).

Just an Idea, tell me what you think.

Include Circuit de la Sarthe. GT500 and GT300 are "approximations" on horsepower levels. It's dumb, I know. Like the idea. Would the racecar class have some sort of a handicap system, I don't think that the Mazda 6 Touring car has much of a shot against the 787B at most circuits... last I checked. Keep working on the concept, come up with as close to a fool proof plan as you can and I'd be interested.

ok. So because this is new, and I'm more or less testing the waters on this sort of thing I'm going to keep the series small and simple (for now)
The only class allowed is what I'm calling the "3.5 Spec", the class will consist of street cars, with unlimited chassis tuning, and power to weight ratio of 3.5. All tires are allowed. No NOS.
To compete your street car must have a rotary engine (rx-7, rx-8, cosmo).
There will be three rounds of competition, in 5 laps a track.

Round 1 is at Laguna Seca
Round 2 is at Tsukuba Circuit
Round 3 is at Suzuka Circuit

Sound good? Any questions/suggestions? Once I have some people who are willing to compete then I will lay out the scoring process. I could use some suggestions here too!

All right lets get this thing moving!

I don't know about the masses, but if it is any compensation and if it means anything I am very interested and I like the concept very much.

well I like the idea too. If we can just get a few more people to run it with us. I know there are a bunch of ppl who are FD obsessed, and needless to say I think this series would give them a run for their money. I welcome the tuner cars and concept cars. (ok the 1:ouch: tuner FC) if we can get Five ppl together, I'll put together an *official*:dopey: RE Challenge post, complete with WRS style thread layout. *sigh* maybe I should try this is a spot race series?
