Is it me or is this series extremely hard?

I mean, it's about LMP cars just like GT All Stars and GT World Champ but it's way harder. What's the deal?

I tried using the black R92CP and the R8 on the Tsukuba Race but I had trouble keeping up with the leader and quit; I don't want to win on pit strategy. Moreover, I was offered a handful of A-points, like 6 or 7. What gives??? (Please note I won all races in the aforementioned championships using the less than stellar black R390GT1, I think I know what I'm doing here).

Suggestions?
 
I used the 787B with Racing mediums in the front and racing hards on the rear. Try that, I didn't have to pit.

Going from Hard tires to Medium can make a big difference in lap times...especially with LMP cars. I won that series with a "stock" Bently, and a "stock" Pescarolo. I used Medium tires mostly, and Hard tires on 1-2 races.
