Just wondering if anyone's real life car is in the game. I've got an '03 Mazda Protégé 5 (with 122,000 miles), and just recently an '02 Protégé just appeared in the used car list.

Well I bought it, and it seems to drive pretty close to my car. The only differences I can tell are it lacks the 5-speed transmission and it's horsepower is much higher than my car (around 160 vs. 130). I figure my 5th gear is merely an overdrive, I'm not going to get the GT5 stock Protégé much over 120 mph except going down a hill.

The other possible likeness to my car is the '02 Mazda Demio, but it has less horsepower. Considering the age and general loss of power over the years, the Demio is likely a closer representation.

Also, which tires would be appropriate for simulating street tires? Comfort softs seem to handle well, but when I bought (my) car they said they had pretty high rated tires (which wore out quickly and were terrible in the snow and rain). Could those be considered 'sports' tires in GT5?

I'd like to hear your thoughts about tire choice and if anyone has any experience comparing their real life to car to samples in the game.

Thanks for your insight and comments

Close to my real life car is in GT2 the '98 Mustang Cobra (I have a '95 which has the same body but different motor and transmission) Sadly PD hasnt put it in a game since :'(

They have the SVT Cobra which is similar.

'00 Cobra R? Its not the same Generation, has IRS and a ton more power. Based on the same platform but alot different.

^ I didn't know they had IRS on any generation of Mustang? Special to that version maybe?

'03 to '04 Cobra

^ Ah I see. On topic I have a 83 Z31 300zx in game that is identical to the Z31 I had IRL except for the Hood scoop and mine was a T-Top car with no turbo.

I have my car as close as I can get it anyways.. I drive a supercharged Honda Fit which I have hacked a Fit to add a supercharger and lowered it.. Added some bigger brakes and some extra horses to match my actual tune.. If only I could add a carbon fiber hood!

'99 to '01 Cobras had it as well. Ford SVT/SVE did develop it for the '07+ GT500s as well but it was killed due to cost concerns :(

Back on topic I did get a Subaru LEGACY Touring Wagon GT-B ’96 since I drive a '96 Legacy sedan as a DD.

I was about to post about the same car. :) 👍 Mine's a wagon, but with the flat roof, unlike the one in the game.

I don't know if this is considered similar, but I have a '69 Camaro SS Ingame that I have tuned to have the same HP as my family's real 1968 Camaro SS. At least they're in the Same Generation of Camaros.

 my bad, the '99 Cobra with it's power output has had its issues. Forgot about the '01, even when owning it and it being in GT3 was it? Just under powered and the inboard spline at 28 count was a serious weak point before the half shaft snapped.

Back on topic: I wish they had the 5.0 '12 in the game. Closest thing would be the M3 Coupe '07. Power and Weight vs Reality, they were neck to neck in comparison. Witnessed the '11 M3 stock run 12.6 @ quarter and was able to mirror it with the '12 5.0 stock.

PD for some reason in GT5, never got it right with the Ford cars.

Would have helped if you did a search first.

Breaking news: More than three hundred people are estimated to be dead in what experts are calling a duplicate of a thread from three years ago.

...I'm sorry, we've made a mistake. I'm being told that this doesn't actually matter at all and you should stop whining about new threads and double posting that caused exactly zero problems for anyone ever.

News Flash for you my little friend. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4368810#post4368810

Perhaps you didn't get that memo.:sly:

This thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=244347&highlight=real+car+game has also been closed for the very same reason.

It was started 3 years ago, but it is still a perfectly valid thread and was still in use.

Thanks but there's no way to win; you're either going to get chastised for not searching or bringing a thread back from the dead...
How do you know? If a comment is on topic and relevant, we always prefer a thread to be brought back (and as I pointed out above, you weren't bringing it back very far) than yet another duplicate thread to be started.
