Real Life R246...

Here is a translation of what it says on that page. The translation is from babelfish.

Is sold in 2002 year original day the real driving simulator which
" GRAN TURISUMO CONCEPT 2001 TOKYO (or less GTC)" ,
There is a course " TOKYO R246 " which continues from previous production " GRAN TURISUMO 3 A-spec and " is recorded .
Way it is understood from name, national highway 246 this course which sets the line to main straight,
As for being made the public road the around actually Tokyo * Aoyama in reference famous story.
Not only the road and various ones scatter to the scenery, but the expectation which refers those where those exist.
In various ways because the feature building is many, whether with the actual scenery how it has become that it is about to become the just a little air.
Really according to course of the GTC trying walking, skill you will try doing that scenery thoroughly then.

The seattle track is also very realistic, you can see the seattle skyline, the old King Dome, SafeCo Field being built, and even the rail road track that run right past the King Dome. I like driving the Seattle track because it's fun to see all that stuff put onto the game.

Good find Palm! I've heard alot about this topic but never found proof about the R246 being based on real life roads. Good work ! 👍

I believe that Laguna Seca, Tokyo, Cote are the only real tracks in the game. The other's are probably just made to look like they were modeled after a real track but I will look into it...

Speaking of which, why is Monte Carlo track called Cote De Azur in the game? Is it how it is pronounced in the language they speak in Monaco or...

I don't know why. In Monaco they speak French and CĂ´te d'Azur means "blue coast".

Well, the Monte Carlo track is beside a harbour right? With them docks and big yatchs ... right? Maybe that's why its called Cote d'Azur ( Blue Coast , just like Woolie said. )

:)

Well if your a big rally buff (like me :) ) you will know that the Monte Carlo Rally is in Monaco and that Monaco is VERY close to Spain. Thats probably why there is a mixed language at times...

 go and look at a world map.... Monaco is located on the South coast of France near Italy. Spain is miles away in the other direction!

The main language in Monaco is French. The others are Italian, English and Monagesque. Thew only people in Monaco that speak Spanish are Spanish people there on holiday.

But apart from that, you're right! ;) :p

Oops :O , I was thinking of something else...

[Edit] when I said Spain I meant Italy (or something, now IM all confused :grumpy: )...

Laguna is one of the nicest tracks on the planet....and the real life drivers who have driven that track at high speeds say that going down that corkskrew is like falling off the edge of the planet! it's a 5 story drop i think, correct me if i'm wrong, but falling 5 stories in rougly 25 meters at close to 70-100 mph would be quite the ride!!

p.s. cobraking nice avatar, oh how i wished that the S2000's in GT3 had their softops down....:(

I think stories seems a little too much, but hey, I could be wrong.

Just to be completely pedantic  Tokyo, Rome & Seattle exist as roads not racetracks. There has never been a race around the streets in any of these cities using those track layouts.

I saw the PD headquarters coming into turn 1 at Tokyo.:D

*Me storms the place and finds pothead programmers of GT3 AI to beat crap out of.:p *
