Just trying to build my dream first car, does anybody know what tire I would use in GT6 for a "Ultra High Performance Summer" tire?

What's your dream car if you don't mind me asking? What's the actual tire? I know whith my family and friends we play GT6 as if the parts in the game were compared to their real life counterpart. For example Michilen pilot super sports would be a comfort soft tire in GT6, again this is going off my personal league. I have done a lot of research and I think I could help you, and if you are interested in that realistic counterpart game style with GT6 shoot me a PM.

1994-1997 Mazda NA Miata as a first car, and still shopping around for tires, leaning towards the "Ultra High Performance Summer" class of tire, or something like that (Class is from TireRack.com). Wouldn't it be cool if someone made a chart with which tire would be most likely the equivalent in GT6?

Lol I actually did I have to revise a little though.

Comfort soft in lap tests give almost similar "Extreme Performance Summer" or "Max Performance Summer" tires categories fast laps, so i think Comfort Medium is like "Ultra High Performance Summer" and/or "High Performance Summer", with Comfort Hard near/or like "Grand Touring Summer", all that for road tires... with Sport category is like Semi-slick Yokohama time attack compounds... sorry for my bad english.

That's great! Thank you so much! :D

Tyres are among the most difficult things to mathematically model in the world. The current approach for videogames (I presume, and I think GT6 is probably implementing such approach) is Pacejka, which means from 5 (simplest version) to 100 coefficients, specific for the tyre, and experimentally found.
I guess the high cost (tyres wear rapidly) needed for a complete test is the reason why in GT6, as well as in any GT game, there are not many models of tyres, but only "generic" ones.
The only way to understand how close a real tyre can be to one from GT6 would be knowing the coefficients of both the real tyre and the virtual one, and see how close they are.

I am not saying that a comparison between real and virtual tyres doesn't make sense - it makes, and it would be useful if, for example, tyres could be certified in a scale compatible with GT. Like for example one could know he's buying a "Comfort" or a "Sports medium".
But really, unless the tyre producers do that (and this also implies effort from GT to make its tyre code open to at least the producers) there is practically no way to find an equivalence, if not a quite loose one, based onto common sense.
